Do a list of all the food in the house and when you've made all the meals you think you can - head over to Old Style and list what you have and the number of meals it has to cover.
Crack open the £2 tin (sorry - know you've only got £2 in it!) and again look at OS for meal ideas - there is a regular doing food for 50p a day at the moment over there!
Is there anyone who OH could get a lift to work with - even if it's just 1 or 2 of the days?
I've been in your situation, it's really horrible but just keep posting each day and we'll get you through it.
Thankyou for the info, will pop on to OS now. I will post daily and let you know how i am doing. Talking through it with you all, is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.

if you do have to go and get some food - choose the time you shop carefully. My Tesco does first reduction at 5 and then second one at 9. Asda is 12pm and 6pm. If you know when your stores are yellow stickering you could really save the pennies. might be a bit hit and miss what you get but worth doing - Asda always has loads of veg and fruit reduced where I live.

Jo,
If you are doing a car boot, they usually don't ask for the money straight away, just tell them to come back in a while if you haven't made the stall money yet, I think it's about a tenner a pitch in most places.

Is this £9 between you and OH???
Have you both exhausted asking family for a small loan (£20??) To buy yourself some time pending doing car boot / ebay etc.?0 -
Hey Blue.
I dont think there is much i can add.
May be you could send OH out to mow lawns??? Or ask a neighbour if they want you too baby sit (you do such a wonderful job with your grandkids)
Also - do you know how many miles your car does on "empty" when ours hits the red line we normally have a good 15 - 20 miles left.
Dont forger Gala free b!ngo on thursday - my nanna always says you can change your luck yourself so stay positive and remember a problem shared is halved and you get three times as many solutions.

to avoid the cost of a carboot, why not fire some ads into the adtrader, its free to advertise and they have "i think" an under £20 section at the front or if you have alot of smaller things then fire them all into a box and advertise the box for sale for carbooters!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
