1p flights, yes they are there, and yes there is a card charge, but at the end of the day the flight is still cheap as chips.

Baggage, if you don't want to pay for it, don't, and you have up to 10kg of hand luggage, not bad.

There is no charge if you pay on an Electron Card. I have a little-used account with Abbey with one of these, which I use to buy flights. Bought 6 flights recently for a total of £5.58. Using the Electron card saved me £24 in charges.:)

As for baggage, we can manage for up to 10 days on cabin baggage, simply because we don't take loads of unnecessary junk!;) If people want to take overstuffed cases, fine. They can subsidise me. As can the people who don't bother to read the T & Cs.:D

I've just ordered one of these cards myself via the Co-op bank, just for flights.

My hubby travels light as well, on a year round trip he only took a dozen pairs of boxers...................

This reminds me years back when i used to use an airline called Jersey European (anyone else remember) Anyway i checked in and my bag to go in the hold was about 2kg over weight. I was told this was too much and would have to take out 2kg. So i got a carrier bag and took 2kg out and carried it on as hand luggage.

This was before the Health and Safety Acts all said the max weight was 25kg or whatever it is.

But it baffled me, even the clerk was giggling since what i was doing made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Are Jersey European now Flybe? Or were they British European??

  • Just been to Girona with ryanair 3 people 2 cases, one case 17kg other case 15 kg. Girl booking us in didn't say anything. Was I lucky or was it because it was 5 am and she wasn't awake. Coming back took out some heavy jeans etc to be on safe side.

Both. JEA rebranded to British European and then to Flybe.

Am I the only person left who remembers flying on BEA (British European Airways)? They later merged with BOAC to become BA.

When I first saw adverts for British European, later Flybe, I wondered whether that merger had been undone and BEA had returned.

Considering that you class 2006 as recent, then yes, time clearly does fly in your world! :T

I'm just wondering whether you ever let anyone else have the last word? Or do you just keep on replying until they give up? (Edit: Oh damn, now you've got me doing it.)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
