And I still say that I think their policy of not pooling luggage for passengers travelling on the same reservation is a bit daft.

And I fully agree, it's more than just daft, unless of course it increases revenue for the carrier for each luggage booked in, which is obviously the purpose - they want a price for each case, so pooling would cost them. But that's their pricing structure and the final price will always be the same, just a different way of getting the final price. The advantage of course is using hand luggage, or hand luggage and one case between two etc. But as long as they keep flight costs down, that's what matters.

the ryanair thing which makes travellers miserable is the boarding situation which can get out of hand, yes thats ryanairs fault, along with all those social class a-c people.

ryanair is the airline with the most affluent customers, yep thats true, and them !!!!!!s can push and shove with the rest of us

somebody obviously has a chip on his shoulder.....

no... it isn't Ryanair being silly.... every airlines does this...

US Airways did it to me, i was flying alone, one bag was over the weight limit and one bag under. I was allowed to open my cases, rearrange things, to make the heavier one under the weight limit...

perfectly acceptable, not damn silly at all

yup we had similar in the States as well, made us laugh as they'd rather you took 40 different bags then have one 500g overweight!!

If you really don't like a company don't use them, we have chosen other airports and driven to a location rather then fly with an airline we dislike.

Still not very specific is it, PandaPants?

I was referring to a man, hence saying "yer man" in a previous post. I am under the impression you are a woman.

If you find that predictable, then don't read my replies.

I hadn't read any of your replies until you started quoting me and asking me to be specific.

    Paranoid much? :rotfl:

Not paraniod at all, thanks for your concern.

I just don't like posts that have nothing to do with the subject under discussion - yours was just a vague swipe at someone possibly known only to yourself.

This reminds me years back when i used to use an airline called Jersey European (anyone else remember) Anyway i checked in and my bag to go in the hold was about 2kg over weight. I was told this was too much and would have to take out 2kg. So i got a carrier bag and took 2kg out and carried it on as hand luggage.

This was before the Health and Safety Acts all said the max weight was 25kg or whatever it is.

But it baffled me, even the clerk was giggling since what i was doing made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

These Ryanair threads usually end up in petty squabbles..... :rotfl: :rotfl: A lot of people are very passionate about their favourite airlines.

You're so right PandaPants, I'm SOOOO passionate about Singapore Airlines.
I actually quite like Cathy Pacific and Thai International too.

In the case of Ryanair, I'm aware of all the extra charges, I don't pay a lot, I don't expect a lot, I usually get what I've paid for - a budget flight that tends to depart and arrive on time and even with the credit/debit card charges, it costs me less than with any other airline.

These discussions usually arise because people DON'T read T&Cs, book before really thinking what they're doing about luggage etc etc and then start a thread with the words 'scam', 'con' or 'rip-off' in the title.

And of course, Pandapants, is it any wonder that your posts are off-topic when you say
I hadn't read any of your replies
    which were on-topic.
