True, but just because you're on the end of a phone, does that mean you should take someone's abuse?
I don't work in a call centre and never have but I have previously worked in the service industry where people have been beyond rude for no apparent reason other than that they were running late already and the queue in [insert Big Name Coffee Shop here] is so long they've become even later. So they took their frustration out on me, as though it were my fault.Ok, so I never called anyone a tw*t (at least not to their faces!) but I can appreciate the sentiment!
Completely agree - and I suspect there is something more to this story than the OP has said [See my earlier posts].
That said, taking the time to send a SMS to the OP with that word is a) stupid; b) totally, utterly wrong.0 -
Actually I don't know what you're making such a fuss about.
You shouted at them to bog off and they called you a tw*t – it's all a bit 'playground' don't you think?! And, at the risk of being flamed, I'd be inclined to tell you to grow up!
Completely agree with briona.
Yes it was wrong but the OP shouted at someone who texted back tw*t.
for that the OP should:- Get £900 compensation
- sue for slander and liable
- get someone sacked and lose livelihood
- contact the papers and TV
- report to Ofcom or police
I think my monitor's running out of ink....0 -
I agree with you tsol, however, if you're silly enough to text someone that they are a tw*t, then you really should expect a complaint.
I think you should just send a complaint and leave it at that.0 -

actually it was a 'twa*' they called me. they put the *on the end.
I have written a stern letter to the head office address.
For those that say there is more to this than what im saying, you are wrong. thats why i was, and still am flabbergasted.
Hopefully one customer service agent will have a hungry family soon.
Dear Sirs
On Friday 25/7/08 I received several unwanted and unsolicited calls from T Mobile customer services chasing a bill I am under the impression is due for payment on the 30/7/08.
At 18.52 I received one of these calls, I told the caller I objected to the call in no uncertain terms, and promptly hung up on the caller, as I was driving on the motorway.
At 18.53 I received a text message from T Mobile, that caused great offence to both myself and my partner. This text message simply contained the word “twa*”. The implication and meaning is quite clear given the text arrived only one minute after hanging up an unwanted call.
At 19:23 my partner called T Mobile customer services via the 150 number, to express disgust at the message we had received. The customer services agent informed my partner that the text had been sent from T Mobile collections, however would not explain why, or who sent it. The customer services agent abruptly terminated the call when he was informed the call was being recorded.
Without any further explanation from yourselves with regard to the deeply offensive text message we received, I feel it is necessary to cancel our contract with yourselves forthwith.
I attempted to cancel my contract with yourselves at the beginning of the month, as according to the internet based ‘my t-mobile’ my contract expired on the 15th June 2008, however when I called T Mobile customer services to request my PAC code, the customer services agent actually altered the screen to make it appear that my contract ended on the 15/12/2008.
I was told when I was granted the emergency upgrade in June 2007 that it was a one year contract.
I therefore wish that the contract be terminated forthwith, due to the contract being expired, and due to the grossly offensive and disgusting text message received from T Mobile Collections

Actually the word was twa*
Much more offensive :rotfl:
Did you really say just "bog off" punkstoner? I ask because the call to you is almost certainly recorded and if you said anything extra or paraphrased that for our delicate ears (or should that be eyes) then of course your complaint won't look quite so righteous.
