damn rude and offensive too. ill post the letter shortly.
I hear what you are saying but they will say that the employee was on a frolic of his own (legal principle) and that they did not sanction the message.
You are totally right to be angry and totally right to demand an investigation. But depending on how you do it from here will totally depend on the outcome.
I was once, totally unjustifiably, called a name by a member of staff of a large electrical retailer. He was disciplined and I received a cheque for £900.0 -

on a frolic... sounds quite 'carry on film'
£900 is good work. Im hoping for similar. I'm not often disgusted, or shocked at bad customer service, but this is different. im really angry.0 -

My advice - you need to contact them and invite them to justify or retract the text message within the next 7 days. I would suggest sending it recorded delivery to their registered office. This bit is quite important.
Ultimately whatever people on here say, this sort of thing will not be tolerated by a decent, blue-chip company. It just needs to be dealt with at the right level.
Don't get the press or Watchdog or anyone else involved as this can backfire - people get defensive. Just test the reaction - you can always go back to this afterwards.
Technically, this isn't libel or slander (unlike my case) as nobody else was aware of it. It is however, outrageous and this sort of thing can cause a lot of distress.0 -

Its a corporate issue. Not local.0 -

I answered abruptly, and shouted bog off.
30 seconds later i recieved a text from 't-mobile', calling me a 'twa*'
suggestions pls
Actually I don't know what you're making such a fuss about.
You shouted at them to bog off and they called you a tw*t – it's all a bit 'playground' don't you think?! And, at the risk of being flamed, I'd be inclined to tell you to grow up!
It wasn't a machine calling you, it was a person with a job to do (whether you like it or not), and you were rude to them first. If you don't want to speak to them then don't answer the phone – it really is that simple!

I know what you are saying but a company of the calibre of T Mobile cannot call someone something like that. You bite your lip, refer to a manager, anything. But you don't send a text message like that.
You are right. It was someone with a job to do. But just that. Their job didn't require them to send a text message with a nasty word. And more fool them. They must be pretty thick to think that it will not be traced to them.0 -

True, but just because you're on the end of a phone, does that mean you should take someone's abuse?
I don't work in a call centre and never have but I have previously worked in the service industry where people have been beyond rude for no apparent reason other than that they were running late already and the queue in [insert Big Name Coffee Shop here] is so long they've become even later. So they took their frustration out on me, as though it were my fault.Ok, so I never called anyone a tw*t (at least not to their faces!) but I can appreciate the sentiment!
