Hi Sammie sorry to hear about to$$er boss. My OH has been to an employment tribunal before and if you feel this is the way it could go, start keeping a diary of EVERYTHING that is said and done to undermine your OH. Sorry if this upsets you but I hate to hear of people doing this kind of thing because they 'think they are somebody'.

  • Hi Lucielle,

Yeah-I have told OH to keep note of everything-but the majority of correspondance is through telephone or face to face conversations and dont think OH is too happy for me to give him advise on how to handle it all. I suppose in a way I understand as I wouldnt want him telling me how to handle a work situation, but realistically his boss is trying to bully him out.

He has just called me to advise that boss has said if the shop doesnt do well over the weekend he will offer voluntary redundancy to whoever wants it. I asked OH if he felt was directed at him-but he just made a generalisation.
I've told OH to e-mail him and ask for clarification as to what it entails so that he can properly inform all staff of their options.

I'm not sure what happens with voluntary redundancy? Have posted on one of the other forums to see if anyone can help.

Im going to contact CAB on behalf of OH once his boss replies to e-mail-just to check all is legal and above board etc.

    Pain in the a$$!!

  • Hi All,

Havent been on in ages-between being busy and laptop playing up! grrr..

All good with me though! Second week of maternity leave, and I'm getting used to it!

Had to take care of my young cousin yesterday and today as a favour to my aunt-so wasnt cooped up in my little flat, going crazy:rotfl:

Haven't done much in the way of moneysaving-but am getting back into the swing of things..

Today I sorted car insurance-OH had been quoted £435.00 -so did bit of shopping around and got it on e-sure for 349.28-and used quidco-who are doing £70.00 cashback:j -Hopefully I did it properly!!? (knowing me probably not!!:rotfl: ) but its still alot better than original quote!

Have used Cashinmyfone-and have today received my envelope to send my old phone back-so that will be £25.00 that was just sitting in my drawer. Once I receive the money for that I will pop it onto my credit card and decrease the amount. I used Quidco for that too-so received £4.50.

My quidco and PB each have £15.00-so Im happy with that:p

Bought lo's baby bath today and a gorgeous little outfit for her for christmas-had received a £60.00 voucher from friends-so used that-have about 25.00 left on it too, so might pick up a little christmas present for my 3month old nephew:T

Of course theres a downside (isnt there always!!? ).

I arranged for a courier service to collect the baby buggy for me in Ireland-they were supposed to collect it today-but never showed. I used my credit card to pay for it-and the laptop died before my confirmation came through...I mailed them to advise and they said the order was fine-but then today there was no answer from them and no response when I e-mailed to enqiure:confused: I'm really worried esp as I gave them my cred card dtls (stupid me:eek: )-I have to wait til tomorrow and try contact them-if still no answer-then I'll need to ring cred card company to see if anything unusual and may need to cancel it.Im keeping my fingers and toes crossed (what else can i do?)

OH still has his job so thats good. He's been spending his money on his bike and track days but what can I say to him? He was off today and as he has a track day with the boys on Thurs-he decided he needed some pods? for the side of the bike-he didnt find these-but did buy a new visor(he all of sudden NEEDED a new one), some cleaning stuff, a hoodie for me (was on sale-and he wanted to get it for me. (sale price of £40.00 is a bit steep in my mind!!), so he bought it for me. He then wanted pizza hut for lunch so we had that. I really wish he would save his money, i know he likes to treat me too-but really would be lovely to have some savings-esp in the current climate.
He just slags me off for being a MS nerd-and thinks im tight but im (slowly) getting there!!

Anyway-just a catch up/update! Hope everyone is well and not feeling too down with the clocks going forward and cold weather!!

Have 4 weeks left til baby due so trying to keep positive!

    Take care all xxx

Just spotted your diary and had a quicke read! You are doing sooo well! Not long before your little one arrives - 28th Novemeber is great day to have a baby! My eldest is 17 on the 28th Novemeber! - I remember it like it was yesterday - every year as the nights get darker and the air is cold and smells of bonfires I remember being pregnant! It's lovely and exciting - try to enjoy it! x

Can you tell me a bit more about cashinmyfone. We have a few dead ones lying about. Do they have to be working?

  • Hi lucielle,

I noticed cashinmyfone on someone else's post- if you go into their website

    This should be the link:
    http://www.cashinmyfone.com/?source=webgains&siteid=3920

and find the type of phone you have-then they will tell you how much they will pay you (make sure and go through quidco for £4.50 cashback).

They then send you an envelope to post it off. I dont think it needs to work? but is better if the battery is with the phone-though they may accept it if it doesnt -and will send you an e-mail once they receive it to advise how much they will offer you.

Not sure how it works if you have a few phones-but the info should be on the website-hope that helps hun!:D

Might aswell get something for it!:T

  • Afternoon all,

Am being a lazy cat today-am still sitting in my robe with my fluffy socks on and my tummy is being battered by lo:D

Payday today-so have been online making payments-rent is paid and council tax. Need to look into hiring a tens machine. Have done my budget for the month-will be tight (as always!!) but its not like im going to be out on the town anytime soon!!:rotfl:
Am getting my hair done tomorrow-yay! Have to pay £80/90-but the lady comes to my home-and its a really good price for full head of highlights AND a cut-and hopefully will make me look a bit more human! not been feeling like myself in ages-pregnancy is tough going!!

We were going to paint our bedroom next week in preparation for lo's arrival as she will be sharing our room. (We are in a one bed -would love her to ahve her own nursery but just cant afford it:o ) Anyway the landlord called OH on Tuesday and said he would sort it, and pay, and we were to pick some colours:T
So have picked a warm beige and for the little wall where lo crib is, have picked a marshmallow pink-really hoping it looks pretty!
We need to buy a little chest of drawers for her clothes, we have seen one in Ikea-so OH will buy that-and I'll pay for tens hire.
I bought some mags yest-not very MS but have entered some comps so fingers crossed will win something!

OH wants to do Gordon Ramsay's cookalong tonight so I need to go out to get the ingredients. Looks expensive! its supposed to be under a tenner!!?

Have loads of tidying to do, and need to get myself up and dressed-so will love you and leave you...have a nice day all xxx
