  • Hello All,

I must be crazy sitting on comp when the weather is so fab outside-but haven't the energy to go out! :o

Having a lovely weekend though-had my baby party on fri (spent the whole day tidying and baking goodies for it-then all the girls came over-and we sat and ate, had a catch up-played games and they gave me some fab bits for bubs.

Got some gorgeous little dresses, a pink passport holder, body shop goodies for me, and chocs and some lovely practical bits for bubs like johnsons baby bits and socks, and a £60.00 mothercare voucher:j

Yesterday-had our ante-natal workshop, and found out about all the pain relief and our hospital-that was from 9-1. Was so tired that went straight to bed for a nap when we got in, then went to feed ducks with OH, got a little exercise, then went cinema with OH and his friend and GF.

Today, OH is working so I've been getting the feet up-reading the sunday papers and bought a magazine and some bits as another friend is popping over later. I really need to get up and sort myself out before she arrives!!
Im going to try organise finances for the next few weeks-as have been all over the place this month.

I'll try make my lunch for work tomo if i can find anything edible (lots of rubbish and chocs left over from fri-not god for a pregnant lady with too much time on her hands!!;) )

Will post during the week with better updates-hope everyone is well!xx

  • Hello All,

Well I'm going to be starting my maternity leave tomorrow-so 6 wks before bubs is due, though I am taking four weeks annual leave that Im owed so my maternity leave doesnt start until 18th November :D

I havent gone into work the last two days-my office manager has told me to stay at home as there is no work for me to do so not much point going all the way uptown just to sit on internet, when I can do that here. She has been great to me throughout the pregnancy-lucky me.

Have just taken delivery of the baby bits I got in the M&S sale-and im delighted with them-they are all gorg!I spent 38.00 on them-and went through pigsback so will get points for them-and also free delivery!:j
I got three sets, which include vests, all in ones, hat.bibs, mits, cardigans-and they are all so warm and snuggly (got them for £9.00 each), and should have been £15.00 each. Also bought her a reversible little coat, for £3.00 and bought one for my nephew, and got him a gorgeous little outfit for £5.00-really fab-so will keep them for his christmas pressie! REally chuffed with them!:T

OH is driving me crazy at the min-he received some money for an accident he had a yr or so ago-and is spending like there is no tomorrow. Im trying to get him to save it so that if anything happens (job-wise) we have a little nest egg (its only £2k-but its his money-so he not taking too kindly to me asking him to do this). Yesterday he came home and had bought me these ugg boots from 'landmark london', as a little pressie for being pregnant, but they had this blazing heart logo on the back of both-and they were waaay too loud for me, i thanked him but said i wouldnt wear them (im not usuaully so honest, ill usually throw them at back of my wardrobe just to keep the peace but figured I may aswell have something I will wear. So he was !!!!ed off with me-refused to take them back and told me to go online and pick a pair i will wear. When I went online i seen the price £225.00!!!!!!! and im not being mean but they were hideous! I could have cried. He doesnt earn that much money-owes on cc's same as me-but when he gets money he spends it in a day-and gets whatever he likes, whereas I always try to get value for money:confused: . I know he has a good heart, and wants to treat me but I wish he would give me the money so I could get somethin i wanted, or pay something off. I feel so bad and ungrateful saying that but I really cant justify owning a pair of boots for that amount:o .

Well last night he was looking on a property website for a place to rent.
He wants another bedroom for when lo arrives-at a cost of £825.00pcm before any bills etc! I really feel as if I am talking to myself at times. He is going ahead and calling the number today, and just feel fed up. I will never own my own place with him and his spending. It will always be a one-sided struggle..

We also need to get food in (which I have done so far this month-plus he owes me 30 as his card was being replaced), but when I told him last night that we needed to go (I cant drive as havent got full license), he sulked saying he had just got in and had his dinner (which I made for him after tidying all flaming day-and were lucky to actually find something to eat from the fridge), so we didnt bother going.

I've spent 7.00 at corner shop this mornin on cereal, milk, bread, eggs and loo roll. Again its come out of my pocket. He thinks it just magically appears.

Sorry for long continuous rant everyone-just feel I am trying to be sensible with my pennies, while he gets to have fun with his-and I end up paying anyway:confused:

    Anywhoooo...enough negativity from me...

Im going to do some more tidying, and sort through paperwork. Try sort lo's stuff, have lunch from cupboard, maybe go for a walk, check online accounts and maybe make some brownies later for my last day tomorrow!

Hope everyone is keeping well xxx

    Hi sammieb,

You're doing really well, hope you're proud of yourself. Sorry your OH isn't being supportive, can feel like a complete uphill struggle when you have different attitudes to money, but maybe when the baby arrives his priorities will change?

Re the phone bill. My OH lives in Ireland, but I'm in England, but my phone bill is e20 a month. Meteor do free meteor to meteor calls if you are in Ireland, so we each have a meteor mobile, if i want to talk to him I call him and he calls me back so it's completely free to talk as long as we want! A meteor sim is really cheap, and you could stick it in an old phone. I got a phone and sim for e50 (damn old keyboard with no euro button!) which I easily saved in the first month. The reason it is 20 euros is that is the minimum top up to get free meteor to meteor calls and texts, within Ireland. While I'm here most the time it's handy when I'm over, so I just use those 20 euros for most of my texts. Just a thought,

    D x

p.s. congrats on the baby, take it easy these next few weeks

  • Hi all,

Im not usually on at this time, but am just back from food shopping at tesco and am fit to cry..:(

got shopping and came to 68.00 and I had to pay. OH made this lame attempt and pulled a tenner out of his pocket, then I took out my card-and he just shoved it back in his pocket. Whenever we are at till-I always make sure to givemy half, but he didnt even have his flaming card-and knew full well that we were going to tesco tonight.

He already owes me £30.00 from last week-and on Tuesday when we went out (I wanted us to make an effort so went out on a school night-to pizza express and used 2for 1 voucher, but still came to 25.00-and he let me pay that aswell). I had 100 odd in my account today when I checked, and that was to pay for the courier aswell to collect buggy in ireland and deliver to us (best quote so far is £50.00), but my friend hasnt yet gone to the bother of boxing it up and keeps giving me excuses, so I cant collect it until I know size dimensions etc.

Im seriously fed up-I dont rem ever feeling this down-and am sure its the pregnancy hormones but I really am at the end of my tether. I cant see the point in keeping this diary because I will never get anywhere,.Im full of resentment at the moment for my oh-and I hate feeling this way, but hate having the same old arguement with him, and being made to feel stingy and a killjoy-when in reality its him thats stingy, and im paying for everything.I've had enough, I just want to cry..

Sorry to be so down all-but just really need to vent xxx

Look at what you have achieved so far. All the debts are moving down which is the right direction! Have you got your OH to read your diary and maybe realise how much you have achieved and how upsetting you find his attitude. Also (this possibly could be a bit petty) have you thought about charging him interest on the money he owes you as a wake up call. Please accept an internet hug coming your way.

  • Hi All,

    Well im still here!

Decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and just get on with it, because if I give up now it will just take me longer to get where I want to be!

Anyway, finished up at work yesterday-brought in goodies for everyone (most were biccies, crisps, chocs that were left from the baby party and I added some more bits to it when I was in tesco on Thursday night so it didnt cost me too much! ;) Work gave me lovely little presents for lo-from Selfridges:eek: -I got four individually boxed outfits-oh they are fab!!from petit bateau and Emile et Rose, and they gave me a bottle of pink moet to toast her arrival once I have it all over and done with!:j
The clothes for her really are fab-all the bits i've bought her are from tesco/primark/mothercare and m&s, not that lo will notice but its just nice to have some special bits for her (and not to have to pay for them:p )

OH collected me from wrkyest-and wanted to go out for dinner and cinema-so we did and I let him pay;) I didnt even make my usual attempt to pay-am sure he was thinking 'how rude' but I dont have the money in my account so tough! also today I texted him as he is in work and asked him for the £30.00 he owes me-so hopefully will get that back tonight.

Have been tidying all day...so much stuff to do, but feel fairly positive so just gettin on with it!

Have cleared out drawers, and we have loads of old chargers, hair straighteners and other bits so might try list them on ebay later-you never know!

Have pile of clean clothes to put away, washing drying, and going to put on another wash now. Have tidied out cupboard in bathroom to free up storage, will put sheets and bedstuff in here-and also my completed hampers as no where else to put them! OH needs to get lo baby bath so hopefully he will get that tomorrow and we can put it in cupboard out of the way also!

I have done up my new budget and because I wont be getting train to work this month it frees up £150.00 that I can put on my credit card:T
I've tidied out the car-just need to bring it to get washed tomo-(we are on third floor so not an option to do it ourselves-but theres a cheapie place down the road-so will try get OH to bring it tomo;) )

Im tidying out my stuff in room again-loads of make-up i havent used, and styling products, exfoliators so think I'll pop it on freecycle-see if anyone wants it-there are some good stuff in there No7 eyeshadows, pout lippy,st tropez exfoliator etc-I would post to my sisters in Eire but would cost me-so hopefully someone will want it!

Anyway...better get on as I've loads to finish (I've half started most things:eek: so place looks like a bombsite, and OH will have a heart attack when he gets in:rotfl:

Hope everyone is well-and lucielle thanks for taking the time to reply yesterday, with the words of encouragement!

Have a nice saturday evening all!! xx

  • Morning All,

Have been away with OH for a few days-we went to see his mum and step dad up north-and stayed with them for two days. We had a lovely relaxing time-and his mum is so lovely-I was having a little snooze yesterday during the day-and she came into check on me-and put a duvet over me and closed curtains-how sweet!! I know im a big girl but sometimes its nice to be taken care of!

While we were up there we went to the local shop-and as we were passing -I noticed an advertisement in the window for baby bits. There was a gorgeous three wheeler buggy, a swinging seat type thing, graco walker, baby bouncer, foam seat and about 10bags of baby clothes for £120.00-they were all marked as 'excellent condition' so we went to view them yest-and the stuff were fab!! We decided we def wanted them-as they had barely been used-and some of the items had never been used-the woman had a little girl about 10months old-and she was minted-I honestly have never seen so much stuff for one baby in my LIFE!!!
So OH's mum decided she wanted to get it for us for Christmas as she didnt know what to get us-so that would be our Christmas pressie 'for the three of us'. We sorted through all the stuff when we got back-and there is about £400.00 worth of baby bits-easily!:T So we took the bits that she will need immediately -and OH's mum will bring rest of the stuff down in a few weeks-and we are going to ebay/car boot the bits we wont use. She gave us SO much stuff-sterilizers,brand new bottle warmer, brand new baby carrier, toys etc.We are chuffed with them!:j

Before we left on Tuesday I paid £100.00 onto my credit card-so think its now down to about £470ish-and am hoping to clear and cancel this when I get paid next friday:D

I gave away make-up and bits, cordless phone, chargers and other bits on freecycle so am making some headway!:p

Have loads to tidy today but not in the mood for it-I'd like a lazy day but needs must:rolleyes:

On another note-OH has been having a tough time in work lately-he manages a sport shop but his boss is constantly picking at everything he does. Even if he does everything he asks, he will then complain about something else. The turnover has been over 20people since OH took over in Feb-the man is so negative-and is one of these spoilt daddys boys who had the business handed to him-and think he knows how to run it, and how best to do everything. OH has been in retail for about 9yrs-so knows himself-but they both clash, and OH has been so down lately-its really getting to him-and when we were up at his mums-his boss kept ringing-and one of the staff informed my oh that a letter had been left in-he had received a written warning?! OH's mum is really worried about him as he was so down. Anyway OH just getting on with it-but he has gone in today and just called to say boss is on his way down-I really feel that his boss is trying to force him out or else will just sack him, and I feel so sorry for him-as he really has been working so hard. Obviously its not the best time to lose his job as I am due in 9wks and there are so little people recruiting at the moment-and Im worrying-but dont want to mention anything to OH as dont want to pile pressure on him. There is always something ey!

Anyway, going to go start a teeny bit of tidying -hope everyone else is well!!! xxx
