Hello!!:hello:
I've not been around this week, seem to have been really busy, so sorry for missing things. Just popped on to say I've finished work for a whole week:T:j We're off to Dorset (Swanage) tomorrow with OH's DDs to visit his parents. Soooo looking forward to our holiday:j I hope the weather is good but even if not the break will be lovely.
I've got a bolognaise "ready meal" in the freezer for when we get home (and I won't feel like cooking), I've still got sandwiches to make for the journey and more packing to do, so I'd better get on with it!
Hugs to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Well as you will have gathered I am back.Got into the car and we headed off(via ASDA-DH said to get some water and fruit) did that and we headed off on the M60, then M62 THEN M1:eek: (North) By the time we passed York and showed no sign of turning off I was totally bemused(nothing new there then!) Anyway, we went past the Angel of the North, over the Tyne bridge and DH sais casually Any ideas yet(???????
)So he told me we were going out for a meal!!!! IN Bamburgh:eek: :j :j :j (the North East is one of my very favourite places in the entire world) We were booked in to a very nice hotel facing the green. We had a shower, got changed, then had dinner. DH had a feta and olive salad to start with then a veg chilli. I had a wonderful fish chowder followed by breast of Gressingham duck with dauphonise potatoes and a orange and cointreau sauce. We also had a selection of veg. To follow we both had a baileys creme brulee with home made shortbread and strawberries. We went for a stroll later on and then has a drink sitting outside listening to the birds. Yesterday we went on the beach, went to some wonderful shops got some amazing raspberries and various other goodies. We then drove down to Seahouses and booked to go on a boat but it got cancelled due to hte weather so we had a coffee and then headed for home. The homeward journey was not too good and took well over 7 hours. Was lovely comming over the moors it was very misty and atmospheric. We got home about midnight and fell into bed.
It was great. DH has arranged for a really nice lady that is a qualified vet urse to come in and give tablets and feed the gang. She used to work at our former vets(berore all the "decent" people left) and is doing house sitting and pet care now.
It was great and I had a wonderful time. Have been dying to post but couldn't connect eariler(thanks tiscali!!) Am goint to read all of the posts from yesterday and generally catch up. Oh yea and when I came back I had got another birthday card which brings the total up tp 3(which is good for me) Will be back later. Have a nice evening. hope Donny-Gal & JayWard had a great day. See you all later. Ann xxxxBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

AnnieStar, how lovely - and very inventive of your DH
Glad you had such a lovely time...
Am suddenly feeling a bitJust nipped into Sainsbugs & got local paper while I was there, out of habit I always look at the births, deaths, etc - and suddenly spotted a "death" announcement for the husband of a girl/woman I used to work with. We kept in touch for a while after we stopped working at the same place but have lost contact in the past few years (although I did bump into her in Asda a year or so ago & we said we must catch up). He was only 45 years old
I don't know what happened, it said he died after a brave battle. I suddenly feel a bit shocked & so sad for her. They have a little girl who must only be about 4 or 5 now, and they waited a long time for her, then she was born very prematurely. It just seems so very sad.
Think I am going to get a card & send it to her - she actually only lives about 1/2 mile as the crow flies (rail line in between) but just want to write & say I saw it, was so sorry & if I can do anything, she knows where I am. I just feel I can't disregard/ignore it but don't think it appropriate to turn up at the funeral on Wednesday either.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
DH had a meeting near Redcar today so DD and I went with him and had a day in Redcar.
Sales were on so DD got a new top and jeans for £8 for the lot!!!
Managed to keep to my eating plan so pleased with myself.
Found out this morning that the t.v. we bought a few days ago would have been £50 cheaper had I waited for the VIP e mail so phoned them and have got £50 credited to the credit card!
DH asked me to look for a new pait of trousers for him and it made my day when I used the tape measure and he needed two sizes up!!!! He has been really tactless and unsympathetic to me when I have been trying to lose weight so it is reassuring to have the tables turned!
Finally found a suitable pair of trousers - should have been £40 but got them for £15 so had a really moneysaving day."This site is addictive!"

Congrats to Mr Redruby! I still need to get my driving test booked again (having failed four times) but at the moment, it's cheaper to take the train.
Sad, that.
The preparations are still going on for the wedding, and I'm very excited about it.The only other thing that happened today was that I picked up some of the offcut bacon I love from the market for my mum, and took it around to the soon-to-be Mother In Law's to show off, and now when I go to stock up myself on bacon, both her and my mum want me to get them some! Still, £2 for all that bacon is just lovely... mmm, bargains...
Not much planned for tonight, we're just enjoying the cooler night for now and listening to a bit of AC/DC. And perhaps a film in a bit.Have a good evening, everyone, and (((hugs))) to those that need them.
Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0
