Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Pinch Punch First of the Month.
Morning All
Went to bed a little early last night as was tired, result is silly o'clock wake up but not tired now. Bedroom almost packed up - 3 more bags for the charity shop later, and more to Freecycle. Been a strange response things we though would not be wanted gone, and vice versa.
Off to town later, Jayward coming over to browse the delights of the market. A cheer up for her after this week, and a treat for both our birthdays, hers next Wednesday and mine the week after. See you later J.
Not a lot OS apart from a home cooked tea, I myself some liver (which I love) fried lightly with a drop of olive oil and white wine vinegar, learnt from a chef in France, one of whose starters was fried chicken livers, this was lambs liver but the resultant sauce was the same. We persuaded him to tell us how he did it as we were not local. This was in the Verdun, a restaurant which was really the front and back rooms of a terraced house, kitchen in the cellar, set price menu with about 5 choices for each course, and the chef came up and checked that everyone was happy with their meal. Quite short, close shaved or bald head, young, rounded, flip flops, light coloured jeans, white tee-shirt and big white apron. One of those good memories.
Enough M'ing - may catch you later. (((hugs))) and  all round. Take care DG

Morning all. I'm just off to work now - last day of the week.
Today will see another day of work, as well as making wedding plans (I'm looking at possible things to serve at the reception - homemade, of course!) and counting down the time til the weekend starts
I hope everyone has a good day and (((hugs))) to everyone that needs one.Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
Good morning!
I'm feeling a little sad today, after months of squabbling with solicitors, my dad has finally sold his house, and hands the keys over at noon today. Stupid to get sentimental over a house, I know, but it's been "home" for over 25 years, even if I moved out 10 years ago!!(though since my step mum arrived on the scene, it's nothing like the house I grew up in - it's now light, airy and tidy!).
Also, I have boxes and boxes of stuff from when I was growing up...my partners home tonight, and hates clutter, and I have no idea where I can hide all of it! Help!!!0 -
Morning.
It's stopped raining for the first tiem this week. The campsites are in a real mess. Tourists everywhere, bored! Roads jammed. I hate this time of year.
Well off to work, court today (thankfully I am not in the dock). Then home for birthday tea. My dad hits 68 today. I shall no doubt spend half the day thinking about what to get him.
CheersNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning all
Donny, hope you and Jayward have a great day
Off to Matalan later as they have a 75% off sale, so might grab some bargains, and then off to the auction (but I can justify that spend as it is business)
Going out with the dog in a few minutes, and it looks quite bright out there, so might put the WM on
Hope everyone is OK, have a good day xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
