Hugs to Floss, after reading yesterday's thread, where you mentioned the M55, I'm sure you must be close to me....I live in Blackpool.

Hmmphh, it's now raing here, looks like I may get a little damp out golfing. Although it may have stopped when I tee off after lunch.

Overcast here today, but no rain forecast till 4ish, so I'll wait & see.
I'm being a lady wot lunches today, I'm meeting a friend in a local bookshop for a bagle & a cuppa, one day we will get arrested when we meet there as we always walk out with a bag of books that we haven't paid for, not that we steal them, we take a bag in each & swap them.
Hubby's gone to work, BIL slept better last night & I'm doing spare ribs & rice for tea.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning :hello:

I need to pick some tomatoes today, my pregnant friend has a craving for them and if I don't take any round to her, she'll never forgive me :D

This handwashing thing is working really well, I thought it might be a hassle but it isn't. I cheat though, I still use the machine for a rinse and spin. But it means that the machine is on for 20 mins instead of 1hr 4 mins. The clothes are actually cleaner (I've been comparing shirt collars lol). I still machine wash towels, duvet covers and master troo's work jeans. I mostly use a slow spin (400), so there's less creases and a lot of things don't need the ironing they did before (1450 spin). I've cut down a lot of elec use, I'm keeping an eye on how many units I use in a day (last meter reading showed I used 22 units per day). I'm not convinced that capping is the right thing to do, sorry Martin :D

I NEED chocolate today, so will wander over to the shop when I'm dressed :D

My neighbour gave me a gardening set - gloves, secateurs and a some sort of weird knife I've never seen before - so I'm going to repay her with some Twinks (must remember to buy more sugar at the shop)
    I am a coffee bean

    Have a great holiday JulieJim!

Well, I asked about capping my energy prices and E.On said it would cost about £250 extra per year to do it so now I don't know what to do. I am VERY relieved that I switched from BG earlier this year, though. I think they have put their prices up by so much because the Government is threatening a windfall tax on all the utilities and they're just making sure they're covered - they don't give a hoot about all the anxiety they are causing. The Government says you are in 'fuel poverty' if you spend more than 10% of your income on heating; for some pensioners on the basic pension, 22% of their income goes on it so how on earth are they going to cope? It's OK for younger healthier people but I do worry about the elderly and the disabled. We are supposed to be the fourth wealthiest economy in the world yet this is how our most vulnerable get treated. The Government's extra £50 (or £100 if you are lucky enough to live until you're 80) for the winter heating allowance is not going to help very much, is it? Rant over - but it's making me angrier by the day that some people really will have to make the choice between heat and eat this winter.

Well, I am about to have a shower - I'm behind today because DH suddenly asked for a couple of invoices to be typed out just as I had put the porridge on and then he couldn't remember half the details he wanted on them:mad: He's gone off with a flea in his ear about being so disorganised!

We went out for a drink with friends last night and it was really enjoyable; haven't done that for ages. It was a lovely evening, too, so we could sit in the beer garden and just chill. I was already tired so just had a couple of halves of lager and they went down very well!

Today I need to give the downstairs a dust and hoover, make some bread, get the washing on the line, go and put petrol in my car and then get back home and do some more wedding favours - I haven't decided what dinner is but I have some leftover chicken so I may use that in something.

Anyway, off to have a shower. See you all later.
