OS Daily Thursday 31st July

Morning All

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 31st July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

I didn't think I'd be the first one on this morning but here goes. I may be going on holiday tonight instead of tomorrow as DH should be finished earlier than originally thought.

I've just posted a long list on the flylady thread of things I need to do today but I'll see how much I get done. I would like the downstairs looking something like before we go so my dad and my meighbour aren't falling over things when they come to see to the dogs.

I still need to pack everything - I plan on bringing everything downstairs so I can just put everything in the case as soon as DH comes home and sorts out his clothes. Most of the other clothes are sorted though they just need packing.

I'm also off to Hanley to change some shoes for DD and to fetch some prescriptions.

Hope everyone has a good day

Hugs to all

Good Morning Juliejim and all to follow.

    Have a great holiday Jue.

No sunshine here at the moment and heavy thundery showers are forcast but its still very warm this morning. The house is lovely and quiet at the moment and I hope it stays that way for at least another hour.

Just about to check online banks then will go and do some ironing, OH found me a fan so I can turn it on and be cool hopefully. I need to pop out later and buy some cards as its OH's birthday tomorrow. Also need to arrange an early dinner as we are off to see Mama Mia tonight at our little independent cinema - lovely and cheap £2 a ticket. They also do the bags of Haribo sweets cheaper than the supermarkets.

Was a good girl yesterday and capped my gas and electric so that is one thing off of my mind.

Best get on, have a great day and (((hugs)) if you need one.

JJ - Have a great holiday.
I lost my way yesterday and after work, walking dog, cooking dinner happily slumped in front of some trash TV. Missed all flylady activities, felt like I was running on empty. Probably because I have a long weekend, no work til Tuesday. Going to make the most of it with children though.

So I haven't started the day much better, no machines whirring busily as yet. Dog sitting crossed legged !

Today I have Tesco's delivery and a boiler service due, and it's bin day.
Our combi boiler is a nightmare can't get any hot water without turning CH switch on, have turned all the radiators off for the summer but one seems to have a leak, resulting in low water pressure. The water is never hot enough for a decent bath.

Still haven't mown the lawn ? Is mown the right word ?

Hoping for a productive day so I can chill with kids for next few days.
    DC.

    Good morning......

A bit dull & damp on the Lancashire coast this morning :(
Am on a day's holiday from work :j but lots to do, also 3yrs today since my mum died, so will have a quiet time later on.

    Tasks:
WM, washing-up, strip & wash bedding (when bought more bio-wash!) shopping (Wilko's, Mr T's + local market), ironing (pile is large enough to hide behind :o), book ticket for Kensington Palace next Friday, sort my personal filing heap out, pick up tickets for Batman (tomorrow) & Mamma Mia (Tuesday), plant some more mixed lettuce seeds, drop charity bag off, touch base with my 3 brothers + DS1 in Leeds & DS2 in London..... think I'd be doing less in work!

Have got some cooked pots & fresh salmon in fridge for my tea, along with 2/3 cold roast chicken which I will freeze in useable portions. DF will be home tonight :) but too late for a walk to the pub for a beer :(

LameWolf - we're CAMRA members too - just impatiently waiting for our newest beer fest in 6 weeks which nicely breaks up the year, as the other local one is always mid-Feb. Went to the Winter Ales fest in Manchester this year too - very wet but great fun!

Have a great day all who come along later....

    Good morning all

First day back at work today, looking cloudy here. At least that means that it won't be too much like a sauna in work as the sun won't be blazing through all the windows :D

Spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread for dinner tonight.

Popped into a travel agent yesterday to see if they could do a better deal on a villa in Menorca that I found on the net, and they did by £100!!!! :j So roll on 19th September when we are off for a week in the sun (it had better be sunny!) Will have a nice peaceful week. Never stayed at a villa before and had the luxury of a swimming pool to myself. Am not much of a swimmer at all so hopefully I might get some confidence in a pool where kids aren't dive bombing you every few seconds  :D

    ((Hugs)) to Floss2

Hope everyone has a good day

    ((((HUGS)))) to Floss2

I`ll have to catch up with yesterday shortly, my life these last few days has turned into a big hectic mess so i don`t know whether i`m coming or going at the moment :o
I did have a nice long list of people to hug etc but i`ve no iea where it is :o
probably at home somewhere but thats no use when i`m here at w*rk lol.

I have tomorrow off so hopefully normal service will be resumed then.

I`ve just managed to fix my gas and electricity price until August 2009 on the scottish power website so if anyone was trying yesterday and didn`t manage it have a go today.

    Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone, feeling better today, supposed to be going to Windsor today for work, but do not feel up to the drive, so will excuse myself from that. Tummy is still feeling funny, but at least I'm not freezing, yesterday I spent the whole time wearing a thick jumper. Its supposed to be hot today 27-28, but at the mo looking very overcast and looking like rain. Dont know what we will have for tea, trying to run down freezer so probably use up the fish fingers!
