Yeah I did know but also did a search and checked threads here - reported experiences weren't so bad compared to some of the big boys - anyway you actually get billed via larger companies like Southern Electric.
We'll see.0 -
How long has one to wait for cashback? I switched with Simply Switch using Martin's link on 5th November. I switched from Scottish Power to nPower, Electricity was changed over on 4th December and Gas on 3rd January. All attempts to contact Simply Switch by telephone have failed - left hanging on the line - except once when the someone took my details and promised I would be called back. No one called. So much for cashback!!0

Me too. I switched with them on 27 October to British Gas for leccy and npower for gas. However my email to their customer services (CustomerService@simplyswitch.com) elicited a prompt reply:
"Thank you for your email. We are at present administering cash back and should be paid by the end of February.
Many Thanks
Customer Services"
Of course today is the end of February..................0 -
Help! I've followed links to numerous energy comparison companies and get wildly differing recommendations and savings:
simplyswitchenergy.com - Seeboard energy (aka London Energy?) - save £275
TescoEnergy.com - London Energy - £239
The Utility Warehouse - The Utility Warehouse - £173
energyhelpline.com - Powergen - £83
Any advice on why the savings vary so much, and whether London Energy/Seeboard Energy offer a decent service?
(I've read numerous posts here on MSE and no power company seems to offer good service!)0 -
Could anyone advise me please?
We have npower's super tariff (a separate rate for heat as well as night/day for standard; the heat power is provided at night but also for a boost period in the afternoon.
We value this and don't want to lose it. However I do want to check if switching would be sensible -- we have not switched yet (we have no gas).
I can find no reference on the comparison sites to this tariff either to ascertain our pre-switch costs or whether any other suppliers would provide the boost and a similar split of rates.
can anyone help?

After doing all my 'homework', I applied in mid January to switch to EDF for dual fuel saving reportedly £176. Manweb arrived on doorstep on Friday informing me that EDF price rises of 13% / 27% were about to hit as of 1st March ..... and anyway we'd still be paying more with EDF in the end as they have to rent the meters from Manweb and also get the fuel from them too so it'd cost more in the long run.
He also said prices frozen with Manweb till Oct 2007 .... no idea why we hadn't been informed of this previously.
Am now more confused than ever ..... so back to Manweb for us !!!!
Why is everthing so complicated ?????????0 -
I've just had the same from Scottish Power and do not know what to do.
Any one got any ideas?0 -
To those above who didn't receive cash back from Simplyswitch, I have had the same experience.
Applied to switch using the link from Martin's article early November, all switched over by January, no cash back received. I've e-mailed but received no reply.
To those planning to switch I would use the other providers ahead of this company, they are making false promises. The comparison is also not as comprehensive as other sites so there's nothing to be lost.0 -
