HI all, been off the net for a few days as I've been busy, hope everyone is doing well. Ditzeeblonde really sorry to hear about your party, that is silly, couldn't help laughing though!

I have a gift fair all day Saturday (and a party in the evening!) and I have no idea what I should take with me. I'm taking a few gift sets and Amphoras to sell there, a load of catalogues and host packs, a LOT of prize draw slips. I have a few samples but I thought maybe I should have enough to give one to everyone (at 14p each),
I don't know whether I should buy some of those A4 perspex stands so I can display posters and offers?
I am now feeling really unprepared as I've never done anything like this before and it's a week today!
    HELP!!

  • I brought a £2 cork board from Tescos and OH put two shelf brackets (78p each from Wickes) on the back to use. Could also do two cork boards and attach those together so they would stand up.

Dont forget to offer the hand massages for a couple of pounds or maybe more. Not too much, not too much time but enough to get some interest in hosting or leads.

  • Just back from a party, was one for my friend and only 4 people turned up out of 14 confirmed so she was not best impressed! Did just short of £200, my lowest party to date but i don't mind as i didn't treat it as a party but a get together with my friends and a drink and a laugh. Got one party out of it so thats something. Hit my £700 with 3 parties to go so fingers crossed!

Bought a few more things for the gift fair, I decided that some oil burners may be a good idea, if they don't sell, guess what everyone's getting for Christmas?!
Hoping that investing in my business will pay off.
I have the LARGE cellophane bags from supply, and they really are huge! I asked my AM which she used at training and she said get large ones but now they are going to look really empty! I was going to put the host gifts in them but I also want to present the host pack at the party so can't put the catalogues etc in. Will have to use these for catalogues and samples, maybe a bath lily, and get some smaller ones for host gift packs.
House is slowly filling with body shop stuff!
Really hoping the party I have on Saturday is not a total wash-out. I'm not expecting much as it's my very skint mate and her teenage daughter and both their friends which will be skint mums and teenagers. Also, her house is a state and I have no idea where I'm going to set up my display but I will give it a go, I was all for ditching this one but as my others have cancelled I have no choice but to do it and hope for the best.
I'm really annoyed with another one of my friends, she cancelled and promised to rebook by the end of the month, well it's too late now and she hasn't returned my texts or calls even though she seemed really excited about having a party. I am really !!!!ed off that no one seems to understand that I am taking this seriously, I am actually trying to earn some money here!
    Sorry, rant over!"
Roll on Saturday, I am determined to get 4 parties from the gift fair (at least!) and also make a bit doing hand massages (maybe £3?), hopefully the stock I invested in will sell and I am going to offer free delivery in the town on orders placed on the day as I wasn't sure people would be happy paying for delivery and they can't really collect from there.
Sorry for very long post, kept stopping and starting now I have no idea what I've written! Hope everyone who had parties last night had a good one x

  • HI Ragz...If your mate and her friends are broke why not try to get them as recruits instead, that way it won't be a wasted evening.
Let me know how your fair goes, my first one is in a couple of weeks so will be interested in any tips you have.
  • Maybe do 10% off the catalogue price. It should increase sales and you can use the free shopping to kit build or for yourself. Im going to do that soon to get my October sales to £1000. I am just under £800 now but only have an office "party" booked in next week.

  • I got my kit at last, enjoying trying out some of the stuff, Love the shimmer waves :)
Just wondering in all your opinion what are the best sellers? As will concentrate on learning about the popular stuff and building it into my kit.

Cant wait to get started :j

Hi Claire, congratulations on getting you kit, isn't it great?? Personally I haven't used the shimmer waves and wouldn't know what to do with them!
As to the best sellers, I find the best thing to do is demo and promote your personal favourite as you will be naturally passionate about it. At my first party I forgot to demo much so I passed around the hemp hand protector and I sold 3!
If you are in to a product then it will come across and you guests will want it. The vitamin E range sells well and body butters of course!

Picked up some "banners" from my AM today, turns out they are these amazing metal framed things that fold out of a little case into 6 foot tall 3 foot wide masterpieces! Very pleased with them, my display at the gift fair is going to look soooo professional!
