Hi Ragz
I was shown how to use the shimmer waves at training
Basically use the light one all over the eyelid and up to the eyebrow, then a medium one just on the eyelid and the dark one can be used to line with the liner brush, great eyeliner, gives a smoky eye effect , I also used it in the crease of the eyelid so you can see it when you close your eyes. You can then get one of the big brushes and swirl it all over the shimmer waves and use it as a bronzer, looks really good.
Yes it is exciting, just want to get my first party over and done with!
I like the hemp cream, want to get some of those gloves to sleep in to make it work even better
Ragz, what do you mean by banners? What do they have on them? How did you find out about your gift fair? I want to do something like that.
Also has anyone used the 56 square raffle thing, do you just approach businesses asking if they will do it?:cool:0 -

We used the shimmer cubes like that, I didn't realise you could do it with the shimmer waves too.
The signs I got are just one for recruiting and one for hosting, but so big I will definitely be seen! I was just hoping for something like a banner to hang off the table so I am well chuffed with these.

Ok thanks for that Ragz, so glad I found this site, wouldnt be as confident if I hadnt.
Have you got any other useful tips for a newbie?:)0 -
Claire,
Welcome, glad to hear you are enjoying using your kit, hours of fun!!!
Regarding bestsellers for me so far: Body butters, Vitamin E Collection, Xmas Eye Make-up and liners, Maca Root Collection and eye shimmers.
I agree with Rhiannon though that the products you have a passion for will sell better.
I have not used the square raffle thing yet however I only just got it e-mailed to me today and will be using it from now on (or at lease encouraging my hostess to use it) In theory it would be a great boost to sales, but extra work for the hostess so it would be great for those who are enthusiastic but a waste of tiem for those who arent but as with everything, it's worth a go lol.
Tips: Try not to spend too much of your own money on the products, research as much as your spare time allows and enjoy it.

Wow! That's so good! You're a pro!
Have my first proper party tomorrow night - very excited. I did one for my friends last Sunday only 2 showed up but sold £44 that night and this week have sold another £100 just by having the catalogue with me and selling that way.
The party tomorrow night is for a girl from work with all her friends and her mum and her friend. Mixed bunch really, but I will be doing a skincare/body party.
I personally use the Vitamin E range and the Body Butters so will rave those. Also have the shimmer cubes which I love so will be highlighting those. Have 10 girls coming so it should be a good night and I'm only £281 away from hitting my £425 month end target.
Wish me luck! x0 -
Has anyone done a party with boys? I've been asked to do one with a load of local students at the end of November and I'm not sure how it's likely to go. My experience of students so far is that they don't really spend money with me and I wonder if having boys there will mean they are even more likely to all have a great time, have a good giggle at me and my products but not buy anything? Anyone got any experiences, good or bad, or any tips?0

HI EllieP, I haven't dome any with boys or students but I would advise you to keep their attention as much as possible, if they drift away just pass something else around for them to try. Make a point of the xmas gifts, the boys may buy them for their Mums and they start from £6 so something for everyone. Make sure you do good host coaching as she will want free stuff so will hopefully help keep her friends focused. Maybe do the raffle square thing then at least you know you'll have a bit of orders and your hostess can do all that for you.
Best of luck! I have a party with teenage girls on S

I did a party with teenage girls on friday and it went really well. Try to focus on the Christmas make-up, they like the sparkle. If they say it's really expensive then tell them that they get what they pay for, maybe ask for a horror story of some cheap make-up. Whatever horror stories they come out with then you'll be able to show how the body shop stuff won't do that. I didn't get great sales from them but it was enough to be worth going out the house for.0
