Ragz-I've just been cleaning my brushes and also find it hard to get clean the foundation one. I just used the tea-tree product and rubbed the brush on my hand. I did this a few times and between each time rinsed it in water. Because it has a oil base from the foundation it wasn't drying so I used a hair dryer on it. Its not perfect but a lot better. I also use the brush cleaner each time I use it. It does help prevent such a big build up between washes so its good to use after demos.0

That's good, Chichester's closer to Julie isn't it? I didn't have my training there so I assumed no one else would. Maybe she can join our team!
Are you going to be organising a different monthly meeting for our team or will it still be with Lesley's? I don't understand what happens when we get new AMs, do we all split up?
We shall still stay with Lesley's team for the time being... if we get bigger then I was thinking we'll perhaps head out on our own... but need to get my head round it all first! ;o)
Cleaning brushes I use the tea-tree antibac hand wash & the brush cleaner just need to make sure they don't get too wet or the hairs will come unstuck!
I have lots of plastic spatula's so I have one in everything.. I got mine from ebay but to be honest the plastic glue spreaders (like we used to have at school) would be just as effectve & you can get them from most stationers & craft shops.0 -
The plastic spatulas are no longer available from body shop because of their plastic nature, the wooden ones are more environmentally friendly.
I find the brush cleaner great on my small brushes and I agree that the foundation brush is really hard to clean. I reccomend the brush cleaner though because it's alcohol based (i think, correct me if I'm wrong) so that means it's like a disinfectant - even if you can't get all the old product out then you will kill any bacteria with the brush cleaner and that's the point. Your brushes MUST be cleaned between each customer and the brush cleaner dries much faster than water so if you have parties on consecutive nights it's much easier.0 -
Welcome to the forum! As far as I know no one uses the plastic things, we just use the wooden spatula things in our kit, you can wipe them clean as you use them and wash them when you get home.
Does anyone have any tips on cleaning the make-up brushes? I can't seem to get the foundation brush clean as the foundation I use most is quite oily. I didn't buy the brush cleaner as we were told to use soap/t-tree hand wash instead.
As I don't have a party tonight I thought I'd tidy up my kit instead!
I often use basic hand wash and massage it into the brush be4 running cold water and rinsing it and repeat until all clean it work a treat ive never known it not tooive had my foundation brush for like 3 years and still luks brand new
:D gud luk xxx

I know they used to have them as I've hosted loads and we had them then.
I've found that for foundation brushes if you clean them dry add cleaner/tea tree tree facial wash work into the brush and only add water when you rinse they come a treat. Most foundations have an oil composite and you need the detergent part of the cleaner to break this down before adding water.....hope this helps :cheesy:0 -
Hi guys,
I'm sooo confused again! Just tried to put last nights party order in but it was confusing me because once I had put all my customers payments in, it said the order total was 324.44 but the total payments were 366. This is before I entered the hosts details to pay for her half price shopping which should have cost her £25. (I have never ordered half price shopping before so not sure on the procedure). But because it said more had been paid that the party total I was confused, and pressed submit hoping it would highlight my error, but it's accepted the order, is this right? I did get this confused on my first party order, but then as soon as i'd finished my rant on here the answer suddenly came to me and I was just being dim so here's hoping it happens again...
Thing is when I add up all my customers orders it comes to £366, which is the amount showing as paid. But who has paid for my hoists half price shopping, me? Because on £366 i expected my commission to be around £90, and I ordered only £3.80's worth of business tools, but the balance or amount outstanding, which I believe is what is owed to me is only £41.56. (I realise this is the difference betwwn the 2 figures 366 and 324.44, but don't actually realise what this means) so is that smallest amount what I have earnt?
I know I should be working this out for myself but I'm struggling to understand and am awful at maths so any comment would be greatly appreciated!
Thankyou!! Hope everyone is having a lovely evening

So did you not put in a payment from your host??
I think thats where you've gone wrong.
If all/most of your customers have paid by card then you will get a refund back.
Did anyone pay cash/cheque?

Katy did you put the host's free shopping and half price shopping down under their own appropriate sections or did you put them through as her order normally?
You will know if you did as it will have shown up as costing £0 or half, also it would have told you how much you had remaining as you entered it.
If you have submitted then you may be too late but call support first thing tomorrow and see if they can change it.

I have entered the host's free shopping and half price shopping under the appropriate sections, I'm sure of this as I selected down from 'standard order' to the correct headings and in the hosts order. She disd order quite alot of other stuff tho but I put that order separate so she has one order under her name as a regular customer and has paid it all on her card, the other order in her name is under host and this is where I selected the half price and free shopping correctly and yes it showed how much was remaining etc as I was entering it.
It's when it came to the payments I got confused. I put her card through for her 'customer' order and she's paid all of that. Her half price shopping is also showing on the order overview so it has been ordered, but a payment is not showing for it like each individual one does for all other customers orders. But it has gone through so I think I must have been charged for this and this is why my commission is not as much as I thought.
Yes some customers paid by card, these all accepted fine, some paid by cash in which case I entered my own card details for these ones.
I will ring the care centre in the morn as I'm still a bit baffled :S What a wally!
Thanks for the help

It sounds like you just haven't put a payment through for half price shopping.
You can put full price products for the host on the same section as their free/half price. Just have selected 'standard order'
I hope you manage to sort it out in the morning.
