Due to small cello bags being out of stock i have brought some nice Xmasy cellophane from e bay, cheap but looks great!
  • Hi Just done my first party it wasn't a success moneywise only £64 sales but it has got me going, I was sooo nervous, but a lady who goes to several said I did OK. Doing a sale at the school tomorrow so I am hoping to push for more parties there. I dont think it will be successful for sales though. I was so worried about doing the makeover , I have never ever done anything like that before. But my trendy young cousin really liked her look!!! I have another party on Friday and am glad to get this one in first it was good to demonstrate to real people and not just my cat!!!!

  • Hi sarah
I buy large bars of chocolate from the 99p shop and then have a cheapish bottle of wine for a set date. I didn't use gifts for the first few parties, but since i have i have had at least one booking at each party. i think they just help people think they are getting even more free.
My local manager gave me some small bags with some little sachets and a small bottle of shower gel in. So ask you manager, they are there to help and usually have small stuff like that to help you out. You are right that you may not want to buy much to begin with.

I hope this helps, i have a party in London tomorrow! Only 80 miles away :) Lets hope it gets me on my way to SS3!!!!!!

Do only provide a little thing if you do, I spent loads on really fancy booking gift and used them at events and parties, it never worked and I lost the money! Still, others may have more luck, just don't make my mistake and spend too much when you start as you will just have to work more to pay for it (if you can!).

A few samples are good as they work out at 14p each, bath lily (30 for 2.40), mini bottle of foot lotion 20p, mini mango lotion 80p, cotton wool 50p
any or all depending on how generous you are, or a mini bottle of wine from lidl/tesco and a bar of chocolate can be about 2.50.

I would really like to start something like this as have just become a single parent to a 3 year old and a 7 week old. Am currently on Mat leave and facing possible redundancy along with having to cover all the household bills and mortgage myself now.

This would be great for me to do both now and also if I go back to work - would love to get on board asap as can get in for xmas then. I live in West Sussex - what do I need to do?

    Hi Julie

  • Hi everyone!

Gosh, there's been a lot of activity on here since yesterday!

I am happy to say that I am just processing an order from my third party, and I've made SS1!! Anyone know how long till its allocated?

Was a weird party last night, 7 guests but 2 didn't order and another two sat whispering and slagging of products and the stories I had told! Bit uncomfortable, but after the host bought an extra nail file, managed to get her some free shopping, and as she is a good friend I haven't seen in a while I was really pleased about that.

Got another party tonight that is looking like it should go well - gave the host 5 order forms for outside orders from work and she has said she needs more, we're going to hold off submitting her order until Friday so that all the people she works with get their orders in. Plus at least 10 guests due on the night.

How much do people tend to charge for the raffle? I've been doing it at a pound, got some nice things to go in the one tonight - a spa wisdom mini, coconut body lotion, bath lily and cotton buds oh and maybe a coconut soap. Not sure whether to go for £2? I had some awesome shocking pink cellophane which I was recycling from my mum's birthday presents but have run out now so as an emergency measure I'm heading to local florists today to see if I can get a few metres on the cheap!

As for host packs, Asda have an offer on the mini bottles of wine at the moment at 4 for £5, and they are well known ones like Blosson Hill and Ernest and Julio, so I've been putting these in cellophane with a few mini smellies, I'm also gonna get some chocolate on offer from somewhere to bulk it up as the peppermint lotions are a bargain at 20p, but look a bit pathetic on their own! My mum works in a school so gets tonnes of smellies at the end of term, so although its not all body shop, I add things like nail files, bath bombs, candles and toe separators in too as long as they don't have another brand name on, and this doesn't cost me anything - she has more smellies than she could use in a lifetime!

I'm on a mission now to get to SS3 and the £1600 sales in November, so will be on a drive today to book in three more parties this month - I'm offering a bottle of wine on key dates. Hope everyone's well! xx
    NST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.

  • Hi All
Does anyone know where you can buy plastic balls that snap open in the middle and you can put things in?? Do you know what I mean?! I have seen star shaped ones in the past?!?!?
Thought these would be fab (like a bauble) with a couple of little bits in and dressed nicely with ribbons!!?? Good for selling at fetes or as prizes etc???
Have tried searching on the net with no joy :(

  • Hi Everyone!
I did my 3rd party last night and got £358 of orders which is much better! Imay still have another to add to it yet, waiting to hear from someone before I put it through tonight. I also got 2 more bookings for Dec, which is looking quite promising so far on my calendar :), and I got a recruit lead! I know the girl and she is pretty keen on joining, does anyone know if the black make up box is still on offer for getting a recruit in your SS period? It was when I originally joined in Sept. I also got a party lead that I need to ring today so hopefully that's another for next month. Anyway so my manager should be pleased with me when I ring her tomorrow.
Last night was my first flawless facial party and it went great, I am def getting more confident each time I do it. Thanks for the prev advice on low value parties, I think my 1st 2 were more to do with the ppl hosting the party and not many guests turning up. I let everyone sample everything I have regardless of party theme and recommend to ppls skin type etc I find in make over parties the lip and cheek stain and the lightening touch are gret ones to get everyone to try, always popular, ooh and the shimmer cubes! I also always demo the vit C skin boost on everyone and they love that.

lollipop, I am in Bev Ashton's region, were you at the meeting on Sunday?

and Cheeky Emma, I joined for the same reasons, full time mum to young baby. I find it great as I can party when she is all tucked up in bed and ahe doesn't even know I'm gone.. also like you I wanted toget out amnd meet ppl a bit more and I've found it great for that so far, it's lovely to have a bit off time 'off' and enjoy some girly talk, but you get paid for it too! So good luck!

    xx
