i wouldnt expect things too improve anytime soon, with a 25% cut in budget for hmrc contact centres it isnt likely to get much better in the future.0

I got through before - it took about six minutes.0

The automated voice tells you to make sure you have this,that & the other ready etc.............then says "im sorry we're busy" and cuts you off :mad:0

Well i just did get through & my oh my what a snotty/arrogrant/dismissive c*w she was................i wouldnt mind as much but i was actually trying to CLOSE a tax credit claim down :mad:
If this is what tax credits is gonna be like from now onwards under this hated government then god help us all :mad:0 -
I have just had the automated message over and over again. Doesn't seem to matter what time of day I ring, "all of their operators are busy taking other calls." I am reluctant to post my renewal as they claim that they did not recieve it last time and stopped my claim for a month. I was much easier when you could do it online.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0

Unfortunately it was much easier for fraudsters as well to do it online, hence why it no longer is possible to do online!
I called last Monday morning about midmorning, got through first time, gave my renewal info, had a payment into my account on Friday, and paperwork arrived in the mail today. And.....the staff member I spoke to was extremely pleasant, polite and helpful.0 -
I just wondered if anyone else has had any trouble with the tax credits helpline, I have been ringing for the last month, at least twice a day, trying at various times through out the day. Sometimes it immediatly tells me that they are busy, and too call back and then cuts me off. And then other times, it lets me get all the way through the options and then cuts me off. I finally got through yesterday, after being on hold for 28 minutes, all I wanted to do was my renewal and ammend my child care costs. I dread to think what it will be like closer to the renewal date. Also as part of the sercurity questions, they said they would access my experian credit report, and started asking me questions about my mortgage providers, its comforting to know that the same people who lost our child benefit details, now have all my bank, employment, childcare, address details, and have also got details of all my past debts and mortgages.0
