Morning all,
Aching a bit today from swimming yesterday but its a nice ache that says 'I did something'.
I am hoping for another good day even though some kind soul brought in Roses chocs, carrot cake, swiss roll and Malteasers  On the brighter side though, I have started using the Daily Plate website and find it much easier to keep track of my days food as I can log in at work or from home and it gives me a running total.
B: Porridge made with skimmed milk and water, banana
L: HM veg soup, appleNot sure yet, trying to use up all my freezer stocks because the new one is coming next week and the old one is on its last legs so it could be falafel, beef stew, something with mash, red cabbage, or the unknown unlabeled things that lurk at the back
Have a fab day all0 -

Good Morning All.
Not been on here for ages, as I never manage to stick to healthy eating in the school holidays (absolutely no will-power!:o ) However, as I'm retiring in December I'd better get myself in gear as otherwise I'll never do anything about the excess weight - and I need to have really good eating habits established before the end of the year. Probably need to lose 3 stones in total. Want to set a target for October, then another one for December. I know the total amount is way too much to aim for as it should come off steadily rather than massively and quickly. What would you suggest would be a reasonable target that I might achieve?Resolution:

the point in eating regularly every day is to keep your body fuelled - if it goes without food it will hang on to the calories when it does get fed in case it doesn't get any more IYKWIM. Its all to do with keeping everything in balance. A friend of mine who has recently also joined SW has become adicted to the gym and goes 5 times a week. I think she doesn't eat enough for the amount of exercise her body is doing and therefore she is struggling to lose half a pound a week and is getting very dispondant. therefore you need to eat to lose weight!Hope that is of some help.
M.E. - great poem!:T
Our SW consultant describes it as being on journey(I've said this before so forgive me if its boring) and some of us take the motorway route - straight to our destination in a short time with no stops - and some of us take the scenic route - but we all get there in the end. She also says you've got to have a life - there's no point depriving yourself of everything because you'll only be miserable. Most people I know have gone the scenic route!:DDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hello folks :hello:
Feeling a bit chirpier todayI went to the docs for my blood pressure check and he was delighted :T BP much lower than last time and well within acceptable range, weight is now in the 'healthy' band and he said he's never seen me look better
I had yesterdays soaked oats and fruit for brekkie warmed up as porridge, just had quinoa salad with rocket hummus and load of beetroot - nom, nom nom!!
I've got a pear for later and will have pea and feta cakes (HM) for tea with courgettes from the lotty (we have rather a lot!!!!)
Jelly/fruit for snacks and maybe a soya yoghurt.
No change with exOH, still sedated and on life support, not sure what to expectbut at least DD is a little more accepting of the situation now.
Off to 'grocery challenge' now, need to really prune the budget next month!!
Happyrags - a freind of mine lost 4stone on Lighter Life for her wedding. She looked fantastic but when she came home from honeymoon she'd put 2 stone back on and it was all back after a couple of months! In her words it was a waste of money and she is now back at WW (I'm an SW girl myself!!)0 -
Ok, well so far today I have had a glass of innocent smoothie for breakfast, 2 small apples and a clementine mid morning, microwaved corn on the cob (no butter today
) and 2 ryvita with a VERY thin spread of boursin light. Dinner will be spag bol with a salad.
Does anyone have any idea whether corn is good or indifferent for me to it(I can't imagine its BAD even with a little butter) but have turned into a complete addict, and have now discovered takes 3 mins in micro it is my standard quick lunch, please tell me I am eating something healthy!!0 -
Hi all
busy day for me today, so no time for my usual over-breakfast-at-my-desk update earlier!
an ok day yesterday, stuck to my plan during the day, went to an hour long spin class run by the devil (or a close relative!) and then for dinner ended up with a fishcake (not low fat, but still reasonably healthy i think - and from waitrose, wit woo! only bought them becuase they were on offer...), with some cous cous and fried vegetables (half a spoonful of oil for 3 portions). it left me with leftovers for the 2 remaining lunches this week, so i'm a happy girl
today:
b - golden syrup flavoured oat so simple with skimmed milk (run out of cereal, and money til pay day on friday - porridge was in my desk drawer!)
l - toasted pitta w. salad cream, half a fishcake and some veg. some cous cous
s - activia yoghurt
t - not sure, perhaps some poached fish with veg - something from the freezer
went to spin again this morning so i can go straight home tonight to do some washing/cooking/cleaning/unpacking/packing!
well done to all the losers, and chin-up to the STSers/gainers, keep at it!0 -
ps - taplady, that's a really intersesting point that you make about making sure that you eat enough. i go to the gym a lot and sometimes wonder how i get away with the various food slip ups that i make, perhaps this is it?
i also remember when i was on SW that i started off hardly having any sins at all, and losing reguarly. i then introduced sins, up to my daily max (and sometimes more!) and still mostly lost about the same amount of weight each week, so there must be some truth in it!
i suppose i should perhaps tot up how many calories i actually consume during a day, and try to work out how many i'm burning at the gym, and how many i should be aiming to consume to lose weight - don't want to over do it for no benefit!0 -
Afternoon all! Hope you are all well!
Not a good day for me:o
B-4 digestives,2 x toast &butter
L-3 potatoes,green beans,small chicken breast,gravy. 2 chocs from box
D-2 large slices HM bread& butter,bowl noodles
Fry's Turkish Delight
I feel a slippery slope approaching:eek:0
