Hi All,
Well I have STS this week again so still 10st 9lbs. At least when I do get to target weight I'll know what to do to maintain as I've been around this weight for ages now!!
I had an enjoyable shopping trip on Wednesday. We did our monthly shop in Lidl for the grand total of £88.91 and the freezer and cupboards are now bursting. I shall still spend bits and pieces over the month as well, mainly fruit and vegetables - but not milk as we tend to use UHT and have stocked up on that.
I had a quick look at the BHS half price sale as I had a 20% off offer with my loyalty card. I tried on several pairs of jeans and was pleased that all the size 12s fitted. However, I was very optimistic and bought a pair of size 10 black jeans which I got for £6.50. At the moment I can't even get them right up let alone anywhere near fastened but decided they would be good motivators. I shall try them on once a fortnight and use them to measure my progress. so my A in A target is to be able to pull them right up!!!
I spent half of yesterday lying down in a dark room with a headache so didn't get much done but feel fine again today. Unfortunately it's very dark with rain forecast so I don't think I'll get much exercise.
B: Bran flakes mixed with rice and wheat flakes, museli and raisins with skimmed milk. Cranberry and raspberry juice.
L: HM wrap with chicken salad. OrangeNot sure. I have some HM chicken risotto left which I shall give to OH so I may just make do with a poached egg on toast. HM yoghurt with raspberries.
Have a good weekend all and good luck with the weigh ins.

Morning folks,
Congratulations to all the losers....especially Frogga...go girl go!
Happy to report another 1 lb down for me...have upped my water intake and reduced my breakfast to 1 weetabix, but upped the fruit I have...today it was dried apple and two kiwi and am just finishing my first pint of water of the day.
Back later to post what else I have eaten....off to take advantage of whoopsies in shop which has changed from Mace to Euroshopper...OH couldn't remember what was half price so need to go or he will buy everything in sight!
Have a good day,

Hi all,
Help! I need some advice. I’ve been trying to lose weight and get fit in a frugal, moneysaving kinda way – going pretty well so far but this week I hit a brick wall and have been binging on all things bad. Wheat, cheese (neither of which I normally eat at all), chocolate, you name it. Then I did a search on calory-counting, and I’m starting to get worried that I might not have been eating enough. All my very rough calorie counts seem to come in at 1000! I certainly haven’t been trying to starve myself, just cut out chocolate (mostly), chips, crisps, fizzy drinks etc. I’ve been trying to cut out coffee but not much success so far this time round.
Anyway, could someone please advise? Not quite sure how to eat more in a healthy way (without just eating loads of sugar and fat) but I don’t want to give my metabolism a beating!
I’m 27, 5’4” and currently weigh 60kg, target weight of 55kg ish (or equivalent dress size, ha ha). I don’t eat wheat or dairy (apart from in coffee at work), though cheese is ok in moderation, and I drink soy milk at home. Have just started running in the mornings in an attempt to get fit – generally about 30 mins jog/wal, 3-5 times a week. I also walk to the train station and back each day for work (15-20 mins each way).
Typical menu at the moment:
Breakfast: after run, a piece of fruit (apple etc), bowl of GF muesli (about 50g) with boiling water and soy milk, sometimes a soft-boiled egg.
Lunch – dinner leftovers, for example, 100g chicken, broccoli, carrots, rice.
Snacks at work – depending on the day, fruit, dried fruit, nuts (esp if starving); usually have 1 coffee at work and then maybe another cup of green tea or herbal tea.
Dinner - some kind of meat, rice, veg. I might have something to eat when I arrive home from work as am usually quite hungry, but don’t keep many snacks on hand on purpose. (snacks after work tend to lead to very very late dinners and waftiness).
I quite often get (very) hungry during the day, sometimes as early as 9.30 (eat breakfast around 7.30) but that seems to happen regardless of what/how much I eat. Tend to have lunch at 12.30 and dinner is somewhere between 7.30 and 9 on a bad day.

afternoon all!
well done to Frogga:T :A MRSM, Mean Marie and everyone else who has lost this week(havent intentionally missed anyone)
Well done to those STS too:T
Havent weighed in myself due to work so next weigh in is Wednesday night.
Anzac - I have the same problem as you, have breakfast about 7ish then am starving again by 9 to 9.30. What I do is split my breakfast. At 7 I have 1 small slice(400g loaf) wholemeal toast to take the edge off my hunger then later at 9ish I have a second slice with eggs of some sort or beans/spaghetti and I find this helps to keep me going till lunchtime.
Suzid - (((hugs))) to your DS x
Today I have slipped a bit and due to a frustrating morning my sister and I had a veggie breakfast in Sainsbugs - this was a couple of hours after my muesli for breakfast:D then this afternoon I have had a cereal bar and banana and half a bar of white chocolate:rolleyes:I have been in need of a bit of comfort food!
Hope everyone is doing well!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hiya,
I weighed in this morning at 10st 11lbs which means I've lost 4lbs this week!
I should be really excited about it but I'm having serious problems with OH at the moment:mad: so can't get excited about anything.
Today I've had boiled aggs with rye toast and falafel with avocado and salad.
I intend to have several G&T's tonight!
Well done all the losers and well done Frogga on beating the toad :beer:0 -
Evening all,
Huge congrats to all the losers and STS!! :j
I haven;t weighted myself but know i have put some back on, as everything feels so tight its scary, how can i balloon in a couple of days?? i havent changed what i have eaten or anything! well we will see what monday says, not looking forward to it though
also after some advice, had some blood tests earlier in week and have now been asked to go in for a fasting blood test?? when i asked why they said it was for a couple of things but mostly my cholestorol (sp), i knew this would be highish as it has been for last couple of years. but i am really worried now, they wouldnt give me any more details over the phone and i cant go in to see anyone til next friday??? my father died from coronary thrombosis so im worried even more.
i really dont want to have to go on more tablets (ie statins) as i take enough painkillers/anti imflammatories now as it is, does anyone know what the best things to include in my diet to lower by cholestorol?? i dont fancy going down the proactiv/benecol line as they are very expensive iyswim???
any advice greatly appreciatedPlease be nice to all moneysavers!

Congratulations Rockie...wonderful loss.
Pebbles...don't worry about test...apparently the most accurate way to get cholesterol count is by doing a fasting test so it may all be a storm in a teacup...several years ago I stopped eating cheese, eggs and butter and it brought my cholesterol down pretty quickly, eat cheese now but not many eggs, no idea what cholesterol is now....write down all the questions you want to ask so that you will be sure not to forget anything...stop worrying though as that will send your blood pressure up!!
Today I have eaten:
Breakfast...weetabix and fruit
Snack...apple;
Dinner...roast chicken, roast veg and potato, 2 chocolate 'tea cakes' or whatever they are called, lots of calories I am sure
Had Babybel cheese just before bedtime
