Hi everyone!
I'd love to join in! I'm 2 weeks in to my own personal 8 week challenge, to lose 16lb. I was 11st 2, and I would LOVE to be 10st by 6th Sept, when my best friend gets married. I lost 5lb on week 1, and gained a lb this week, due to spending the week at my Mum's, and not having much control over what she had in etc.
We (my OH and I) are purely doing it by cutting out the junk (I've been a chocoholic since preg with DD2) and watching portion sizes, and so far, we're actually both REALLY enjoying it! I'm allergic to raw fruit, and some raw vegwhich is a bit of pain in terms of finding suitable snacks.
I've also given up Diet Coke, as I think I have a kind of association of it with chocolate, and other junk.
Looking forward to joining in! :T

Frogga: ITA about giving yourself time off the diet, it certainly won't all go back on in 3 days, and I think it's nice to reward yourself for being good! You don't have to blow out competely either, unless you want to

Welcome to mariel and procrastinator
Nice to see you back toni, and for the table it's just 1/2 a pound off for me this morning. Had been hoping for a little bit more but I do know where I've gone wrong..... and I did enjoy the going wrong bits:p .... so mustn't grumble, at least not too much!
I'll be spending a sweaty morning in the bathroom.... having new vinyl flooring fitted in there tomorrow (glad it's only a small bathroom, have you seen the price of that stuff:eek: )... so need to get the manky old stuff out and to the skip and have a good clean.
Had my last 2 past-it 'nanas mashed up for brekky , lunch will be chicken and pickle bap, and more chicken tonight with salad and new spuddies. Fruit and yog for snacks.
I'll pop back later, have a good day all!
Ooooh, more new peeps arrived while I was typing... welcome alphi and suzi!0 -

Hi All,
Welcome to all the new posters. Let's hope we are all going to be absolutely angelic as well as awesome in August.
My weight for the new table Toni is 10 st 10 - a gain of 2 lbs I'm afraid since I last appeared.
I lapsed a bit even though it was my first day back on the straight and narrow yesterday as our neighbours brought round an absolutely massive piece of wedding cake. I'm afraid a lot of the icing, though not much cake, found its way in my direction.
Today I plan a long walk if its not too hot plus sewing together the knitted labrador puppy I've been making. I just need to find some safety eyes before I can put it together so am hoping OH will run me into the nearest town to the craft shop there (8 miles away so I could cycle but there is a massive hill out of it which puts me off.) I suppose I could get my bike out if the walk doesn't happen.
B: Muesli mixed with fruit and fibre, raisins and skimmed milk. Cranberry and raspberry juice.
L: HM wrap with prawn salad. Banana.Probably boiled egg or a mushroom omelette as OH will be working. Maybe strawberries afterwards.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning. I didnt get the chance to post much since saying I would join you.
My August challenge is to lose 7lbs. I have got to get myself sorted out asap. I weighed myself this morning and am ashamed to see that I have gained 1 stone since having DD2 3 months ago and now weigh nearly as much as I did at 9 months pregnant!! I was only 4lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight the week after having her so feeling fed up and peed off with myself.
I am going to be 30 in March 2009 and would love to be 11st or under by then. I havent weighed under 13st for nearly 10 years now and have noone to blame but myself. I have lost track of the number of times I have tried (and failed) to diet and lose weight. I want and need to do this for me and my 2 girls so I can be here for them and teach them a good and healthy lifestyle rather than a miserable fat mummy who never actually does anything about it!
I am going to try and eat sensibly these next few weeks and then I am starting a 6 week course run by the NHS on 14 August about healthy eating and exercise so fingers crossed that will help me. After those 6 weeks I am going to see how I am feeling and decide whether or not I shall be going back to Slimming World as I managed to lose 3 stone with them last year.
I know many of you ladies will be an inspiration to me and also I know that I am not the only one trying to change things for the better!
Gem
P.S. Sorry for the long post!2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

Hi all newbie here would like to join, I tried losing weight at the start of the year but failed miserably so hopefully by posting on here I will stick to it this time.
I cook from scratch most of the time but my problems are mainly portion control and snacking in between meals, it is hard for me to control the portions as I am the only adult in the house but I am going to try and make the most of my freezer.
Confession time, I am 12st 10 and aim to get to 11st, my aim is to lose 0.5-1lb per week, does that sound too low?0
