Morning ladies. Raining here this morning.

Ragz - I know where you are coming from with trying to de-clutter your OH. My OH has drawers full of clothes he never wears, then he uses the bedroom chair as his wardrobe!! Whenever I threaten to have a clearout, he says well don't touch any of my stuff.

I mentioned I was going to sort out the shed today, to make space for the new garden furniture and he said, well don't chuck any of my stuff that's in there. It's full of rusty tools he never uses. If there are any repairs required, I normally end up doing them  .

I strayed over to the green board this morning and ended up spending £45 on clothes from https://www.naturalcollection.com . Hope my Quidco payout comes through soon to cover it. I've spent more than enough already this week :o .

Right need to get the twins motivated. I have to go any feed my sister's managerie (Sp!) of pets this morning.

    Morning all

Two loads of washing done, hung out, got back in and hung upstairs......includes my bedding.

Bed remade, all bedrooms dusted (including lampshades which I normally forget) and vacuumed through upstairs including bathroom/toilet and landing. Cleaned the mirrors too!

Vacuumed through downstairs. I gave it all such a good clean yesterday and there was still a coat of white hair everywhere today. Blooming cat.

It's still raining but humid and warm. Not my favourite kind of weather.

Hope your finger's better today Mudbath
  • Morning all. This thread moves so fast!!! I haven't had time to read everyone's posts but will try to later. I have some catching up to do today as didn't manage much yesterday. I think i'll do a general house clean. My list is as follows:

    Kitchen:
    [strike]
    Wash up
    Hoover and mop
    [/strike]

    Kids rooms:
    [strike]
    Polish
    Hoover
    [/strike]

    Landing:
    [strike]Hoover[/strike]

    Laundry:
[strike]Hang out washing when machine finishes[/strike]
    [STRIKE]
Fold/iron and pack away huge mountain of laundry (4 big baskets worth) - This alone will take a few hours so i'll try and do half today.
    [/STRIKE]

Still need to iron but doubt this will be done today.

HHC finished, although I should have called it half hour sweeping as that's all I did.
Swept LR, Kitchen, Halls, BRs and Stairs (only carpet in the house so collects a LOT of dust/fluff). ITNG is on cbeebies now so break time for mummy!
Glad I'm not the only one with an OH that hoards his precious rubbish!

    Morning all,

I did start catching up on the thread where I left off yesterday but all the talk of Mudbath's finger was making me feel giddy so I'm just going to update on yesterdays tasks:

[strike]Tomorrow's packed lunch[/strike] Tomato pasta again
[strike]Wash up and wipe kitchen tops to hopefully keep it looking nice[/strike] It DOES look nice!
[strike]Dusting and hoovering in living room and dining room[/strike] Downstairs is spick & span!

[strike]Put away the piles of clothes in bedroom[/strike]
[strike]Sort paperwork pile in bedroom[/strike] Sort of half done - the good thing about leaving stuff on the floor so long is that when you look at it, most of it can be binned as it's all out of date! So I've binned/filed most of it, and put the remaining bits that need looking at into a folder rather than a pile so it's looking better!
Cut out all the recipes from the pile of magazines I've been keeping, put magazines in recycling and glue recipes in my book - Didn't quite get around to this, though I did sort through the pile and put any magazines which don't contain recipes into the recycling
[strike]The above two should leave the bedroom floor clear so I can hoover[/strike]

Dusting in bedroom - Didn't quite get around to this either I'm afraid - everything else took so long! But the floor is clear and that's the main thing - it was lovely to wake up this morning and not have to pick my way across to the door, and to be able to go to my wardrobe and pick out my clothes :j

I even did a bonus thing and sorted out an MOT appointment for next week, at a council test centre like Martin says:A

As I said, nothing on my list for tonight as I'm off to see Batman (Orange Wednesday :A ), but I want to do the remaining jobs from last night's list as well as the bathrooms on Thursday. Oh and I might give the car a once-over before its MOT next week - you never know, first impressions may count psychologically!

In response to my question yesterday about people working or not - those who work AND have kids to clean up after, I don't know how you do it!! I haven't got kids but my time is quite limited. I work full time and live with Dad, who works sporadic hours and makes a mess when left alone in the house, he doesn't see the mess either which is frustrating. But he does hoover the stairs and do the garden I suppose. I like to have weekends completely 'off' though to see my boyfriend and go out for the day, and I also see him usually on a Wednesday, so I really only have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights to do housework, and it can turn into a real pigsty in between. I'm really pleased with the effect of two nights' hard work on the house though, it looks 100 times better than it did on Sunday so I'm definitely going to try and keep this up!

OK, that's it for me for today. Hope everyone's well and working hard!!

  • Heather hope you get on well at the GPs and enjoy your tea - fab idea you obviously are expecting to be kept waiting.

I was only kept waiting 15 minutes after my appointment time so not too bad and was out with the prescription within 40 minutes - so not too bad!

Though, as I mentioned I was going to go and do my shop in Tesco which is next door to my doctors and I got all my stuff went through checkout and then realised... I had left my wallet at home!

So, I have now wasted anytime I made up at a quick GP appointment and lost another 25 minutes to boot! ARGH! I'm so mad at myself!

I'm now debating whether to fly for 30 minutes and then go to tesco or just get going now? Hmmm... I'll wait because the best markdowns on food tend to be late morning and I will hopefully be able to use this to my advantage!

I'm going to make a start then! HHC for me starting at 11 am.
I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever :(
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j

Well have done some of upstairs. It started of thinking that I would put away DD cot so she will sleep in a big bed (well toddler bed). I then realised I better sweep where the cot had been and decided to do all rooms, then did the duvets in all the bedroom and they are now in the WM, well some of them. Thought I had done quite a bit but doesn't seem so now I have written it down. Oh well.
