Permission to cry please. Our big, wooden front door has just slammed shut on my little finger tip. It hurt so much but has now gone numb and i'm shaking like a leaf. Pathetic I know. And the stupid man i'd gone and answered the door to carried on trying to sell something to me. Idiot!

Oh (((Mudbath))) - I feel your pain. I'm the same, always burst into tears when I hurt myself

RMC - I do fell sorry for NHS Managers and their HR people. It would kill me, not very good at rule books. I just try and treat people how i would like to be treated in the same circumstances.
Dont feel sorry for that creep - he was the worst manager I ever had, he never supervised me, he offered me no emotional or practical support and when I got ill, he just wanted to be sure it wasn't work related stress - cuz if so he would have to answer to seniors.

Or put it another way - I took £3k paycut in this new post...says it all really!

Oh bless, thank you Valli :D

I just cant believe we havent been told. I'm also cross as I'm sure all my colleagues at work will know

However, one of my friends at HQ told me that it has been really common for people to wait ages. One of her colleagues had an interview last wednesday and only found out today! And another colleague had given up on hearing about a job and she was successful and it was a couple of weeks before she heard. Grrr

    Evening all

Pigpen – healing vibes for your Mum’s pooch
Tia – wonderful news about college
Mudbath – hun – big hugs – hows the finger now? I love your daughter’s note – if she jazzed them up a bit and stuck a copyright notice on them, you could probably make a fortune flogging them on ebay!

Well, work got done today - fortunately it wasn't too hot. Have started on the kitchen but thought I'd sit down and catch up with a cup of tea.

It's DiL's 'official' birthday today. She has two - like the Queen. When she first came to this country (several years ago) the officials made a mistake translating her birthdate (which is really 21st September) and put it down as 29th July.

Her family didn't realise for a while by which time all sorts of official forms had been filled in with today's date and, being new to the country, they didn't want to cause a fuss by getting it changes So, all her important docs like her passport, british citizenship, driving licence etc. all show her birthday as today. So, I've done her a card and a small present. She will get a larger one in September!

    Right, back to this kitchen...

Start next Thurs. -Gently does it!

I tried that return to work with NHS and after two weeks phased return, ended up in hosp the following Monday - taken out of work by ambulance - very embarassing but was in bad way (turned out to be not major, but really thought I was dying) So after that (7 weeks ago) manager was 'charming'. Went in 2 weeks ago and said my sick line runs out in 10 days and then I am on holiday for 2 weeks and then I am gonners...........his response 'well as long as you are sure I did all I could to support you............' (thinking he is worried I am going to claim against Trust)

So now I am out of NHS, which means carp terms, (sick pay) but I am still glad..cant be doing with all those bureaucraps!

I am sorry RMC. Btw, I'm a police civilian....public sector, eh? Marvellous

Kazmeister I too would like to know how not to have streaky floors. I bought a steam cleaner which is great but doesn't stop streaks but is fantastic at getting them clean and quickly and no disgusting mop afterwards :)
I only have carpet on stairs and upstairs. Downstairs original floorboards and tiled kitchen so spend more time cleaning than vacuuming

'undiverse' SSL? Blimey, I used to sit at board level for a division of a major construction company, and once got asked if I had the painters in when I vetoed one of their less people friendly (aka immoral, illegal) suggestions. Are you by any chance working in the public sector? If so I guess they are still faking the paperwork! Fingers crossed for you anyway.

Oh hex, what a nightmare. I wouldnt repeat most of what she says as its so offensive. She has a particular issue with PMD. As in, she doesnt believe it exists  And how did you guess I was a public sector worker??? ;)

Dont feel sorry for HR. Most of them are a nightmare. My personnel officer has messed up my pay. I went on to half pay a week early thanks to him!!
