    Hi all
Hope everyone is well on this fine day.

Well what can I say apart from naughty naught to who put up the choc chip cookirs, as I am now hooked. Thanks

I will have to update my sig as I had to go and buy choc chips and while I was there I got some packets of pasta in sauce and noodels as they were on offer, oops.
But the link below is photos of my cookies, the first tray I put in for 11 minutes and came out slighty burnt, so the second tray I reduced the time and they are even less burnt, the third tray I put in are ok, (I am still adusting to fan oven) I couldn't fit them all on one tray.
I also made the pasta quiche recipe someone posted, photos of that too, very delicious thank you to who ever posted that one too.

Edit to say I also made a loaf of bread by doint the dough in mt BM and finishing it off in oven, a little crispy.

    Hello and well done everyone!

I'm declaring £122.07 for August (Target was £130). It's been a strange month, we were away for a week and therefore budget was really only for 3 and a bit weeks:o . However I've been at home (school hols) and OH has been at home for most of it due to injury (now healed) and hols:rolleyes: . Both factors have balanced each other out as far as groceries are concerned and I've spent the same as I did in July:confused: .

My September Target will be £120 assuming OH still needs packed lunches for his new job (starts Monday). I'm wondering is £120 possible since I've been close the past couple of months but we used to spend £60 a week:eek: .
Have got a cookbook that I've never really used called "The Victory Cookbook" its got lots of recipes from the time of rationing ;) so I'm going to have a read before I go shopping at the weekend.

GOOD LUCK FOR SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE EVERYONE!!!!!!!!:A
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.

  • Well I came in under budget but I feel a little bit of a fraud as we were away for nearly 2 weeks of it!

    Still, here goes:
    Can I declare £230 please!!!!
I'm off to the September board now!

Hi catmum you can also buy the bars of value cooking chocolate and cut into chunks- works out cheaper. I made some of the Milles cookies with white cooking chocolate from Mr Ts value range. They were gorgeous- they disappeared quickly though- I think the fairies pinched them cos it wasn't me honest:p . One bar of choc made enough chunks for two batches of cookies. (In between batches I just put the rest of the chunks in a sandwich bag in the fridge)

hi catnap53 -we are off to chatsworth on saturday too. lovely country fair, lots of exercise too and weather forecast real good. The cost of getting in is horrendous but i save in advance for that. Last year we took a picnic but had it for tea later that day, walking round the food tents we got lots of free samples to try eg- new yogurts being introduced, fruits, currys etc. so we weren't really hungry, just used our drinks. lots of things like welsh pasties and ususal burgers , expensive but not extortionate. lots of things to do and look at so enjoy and take sensible shoes!!!

TQ16- foodie xmas pressies work well, whats your dd capable of , how old is she ? things like hm fudge, choc truffles, shortbread/biscuits and wrap in pretty cellophane. jars of hm sweets, photo frame with photos or dd drawings in ( melt grandmas hearts).

I have officially started my christmas food box. Added a jar of coffee and some tea bags to my shopping yesterday, so hopefully by christmas i will only need fresh stuff and last minute things. organisation has never been me but determined to plan and not panic when everyone else does their headless chicken act and throws everything into their trolleys as though we are about to have a siege .lol.

    have a nice day all

My thoughts exactly,I am normaly one of those running around like a headless chicken, forever forgetting things and going back to town every day, but this year I am determined not to be one of those.
I am so proud of my self, my car tax is due 31 st August and I got it Tuesday just gone, only 5 days early but that is good for me. I was and still am saving 50 pound a month for car stuff and over the past year it has been towards new school stuff for both older 2 as going up to new schools this year. I am so organised I even shocked my self.
I have been told Wilkinsons have got some christmas stuff out so I am thinking of going and spending the 20 pound I have saved in stamps and getting ahead tomorrow.
Spent most of today baking so need the fix of shopping tomorrow I think:rotfl:

    Hi there,
That's me finished my first Grocery Challenge, and under budget woohoo! So, declaring £193.12 out of £200. Very pleased, especially as it's been Summer hols - not sure how a 'normal' month will go with us being at school/work, so will go for £200 for September!!

I really need to sort out a new signature!

Was it the Lurpak spreadable you were buying? I am a complete Lurpak snob:o Never used to buy anything else, but i bought the Mr T Butterpak and it is brilliant, i checked the ingredients on pack and it is almost identical to lurpak except it actually has a higher butter content. Tastes identical and is on offer for £1 for 500g (should still be on offer but not 100% sure)

    Hi
TBH I dont have a clue, all I know is it was Lurpak and it was in a grey tub.
I tend not to take much notice of things like that, am getting better though, even to the point of checking my reciepts in the shop and not at home, good job ha
I tend to go for the cheapest, but will be going to Mr T tomorrow so will have a look. Dont need any butter/marg at the moment but if it's 1 pound then....

    Morning all

Just thought I would pop back.. I have just recieved my despatch note from lakeland (which hopefully means my parcel will be arriving with hubby soon :D )...on the note they have listed my free gift -the melamine utensils set.. but they have also added a free trial of their foil... only 4m X 30cm ...but free..should be 99p ... plus in the box there is a 99p coupon of the full sized one :j I like freebies :p ..I won't use the coupon as I love LIDLs foil and its a big roll -but i can send the coupon to my mum along with the other ones i have so she can use them in asda ;)
Hope it gets here soon as i am running low on washingup liquid -but refusing to get anymore as i have ordered 6 bottles of their eco one -on half price @ 79c each -cheaper than my normal stuff :j

On the subject of reprogramming hubbies/OHs I wish i could help :rotfl: Im not sure what has happened to mine..it must be the "drip drip drip" affect of me waffling...almost like subliminal messaging :p (that or he is seeing how my savings account is building up ;)) I say "mine"..its our money -but just happens to be in my name as someone [strike]is[/strike] was a spendthrift... and its only money leftover from housekeeping (just over €900 /£720 in just over 2 months)... But Frugal does seem to be said by him more than me now  ... and when i say "do you want" whilst in the supermarket..he always replies either -"not at that price" or "no, I will only eat it" :rotfl: ..so don't give up on em folks.... mine has got there -much quicker than i expected :j

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    Did make me laugh
Mine does what some one else has said, comes in with bags of sweets for us to share, or buys me big bars of chocolate, but the worrying thing is the bars of chocolate he buys me is normaly my best friends favourite, he knows this and things if she likes it then I will too, I like totaly different chocolate, .
If it's cheap he thinks it's a deal and tries to buy.

Now is this just mine or does other hubbys do this, every time we go shopping together he always goes straight to the light bulbs, home bits like kettels, toasters, the phones, tv's etc
