Hi all, no hope of keeping up but I hope everyone's had a good month.

Reporting in to declare at £98.58 :j:j It was lower until I doublechecked my spends and realised I'd missed out two amounts but luckily still came in just under budget - PHEW! I'd have been so annoyed to go over. My elation is kind of tempered by the fact that I've only included food this month ie no household or pet stuff so part of me feels as if I haven't really reduced my spends much at all, especially considering all the things I now do (menu plan, lower brand, whoopsies, growing own veg, foraging etc etc ). I hope that this is due in large part to increasing food prices but can't help feeling I'm mssing something... On the up side, I have had extra spends for the workers this month, I do have 2 freezers pretty full and it was a 36-day month..
Roll on next month! :D See you all over on the September challenge, which no doubt has many pages already!

    Well!!!! Only £339 for August - so well within my £400 budget :j :j :j :j :j :j :j

I shall aim for £350 for September.

I'm reducing the budget slowly in the hope that if I can achieve my goal I shall stay motivated.

We're off to France on Sunday and I shall be there for nearly 3 weeks and hubby will stay on to get on with our new kitchen. Food is not as cheap as it used to be over there and I can't remember how much is in the cupboards. I never leave much in the freezer because if there is a power cut it could all be wasted.

Well done to everyone - those who've come in under budget and those who have missed it. Trying is what matters and I'm sure everyone has spent less than they would have without the challenge.:T :T :T :T :T :T

  • Morning all

Sorry, I haven't managed to keep up with the threads at all over the last couple of weeks, but hugs/congratulations as appropriate.

Last August spend yesterday - £16.99, so I'm declaring my total at £68.70 please Angelnikki / MrsM.

    See you in September!

  • I'm going to do a biggish shop tomorrow, so can't declare yet, but will be under budget. Doing a big shop right at the end of July has certainly helped me this month so I'm trying it again.

Please put me down for £150 for September and thanks again for running this thread.

Alexelisey - Hope you enjoy browsing round the Market and find some bargains. :D

Well actually... :rotfl:it's the market's fault I'm already over budget this month! I went yesterday, to see what there was, and got £5 of pork loin chops (frozen), a bowl of 8 nectarines, a bowl of 8 red peppers and a bowl of 16 avocados for a pound each (£3 on F&V :j). Then I bought 2 pints of shell-on prawns for £2 and a kilo bag of frozen tropical fruit salad for £1.

Don't worry, I'm not going to blame you for making me go over! :D Especially since I already figured I was going to go over budget as I need a few things this weekend which unfortunately can't wait until Monday. But on the plus side DH took me to Farm Foods in Erith (first visit ever) and we spent £22 but that was out of his money not the GC!

I'd better update my sig, although it'll need changing again by the end of the day

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll go again! :T

Hi, Would like to declare that I came in under my £40 per week for each week of Augs (£39.39, £36.72, £38.22, £39.67) so this was a total of £154/£160 for the whole month (5 week month but 1 on hol so 4 weeks GC). Not sure how you update with weekly budgets but hope this is the info you need MrsM. Thanks very much MrsM, nikki, and pink, for all you have done this month :T
