£11 spent on shopping yesterday, so im still under target and with only a few days to go im thinking i might do it!
Not bad for my first GC so will deffo try again next month, my daughter starts school so it means packed lunch. Im sure i can do that for cheap enough, tried to make my own buns the other day, that didnt work so its gonna have to be cheap bread for sarnies...lol
  • So chuffed this morning checked my bank balance of my "food account" and still got £90 left! this is still augusts grocery money but has to last til the 7th September once my hubby gets paid and my september spend starts. Can't quite belive i have that left that as its been a five week month for me so i've averaged £77 per week for me, hubby, 2 daugters and 2 cats. Last month i was struggling with £100 per week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have learnt so much from this thread so THANKS for everyone's advice.

Also got paid £30 back pay from work so its all getting chucked in my savings account! YAY
    One Happy Mummy! :D

  • wow i am in a complete mess this month, i was doing so well but then have been on holiday to Egypt, then 3 days before i went away my FIL from spain arrived and i ended up having to go shopping again and get things for a BBQ that my SIL +1 then turned up to aswell.

Thinking i will write that shopping bill off though as normally we would of had to pay to go out to a restaurant that night but we decided to have BBQ as cheaper for the 9 of us (as we would of had to treat FIL he paid for meal out the night before) so if i write meal off as misc this month then the food i bought to bring fridge back to life this week i have only paid out another £17.38.

have now started on September's shop (OMG its goning to be september already i got to start xmas shopping lol)

Declaring August as £194.35 thank you and good luck to everyone else finishing off
    Still Trying :o

  • Spent £4 yesterday on some veg from Mr T, got the 65p courgettes and romaine lettuce and a few other bits.
So I have £1 left, but seeing as I need milk and mushrooms before the week is out I know I will go over, but still done quite well I think :)

    Good morning

HWGA - Sorry to hear of your loss

Caz - I feel for you. Anniversaries are always tough.

Rachel mk - Glad your move went well. Don't work too hard!!

BigBird - Hope you had a wonderful birthday

Nsd grocerywise yesterday and should be today as well - unless I see some bananas!! I shall defrost some pork chops for supper with beans (a gift from a friend) and mash.

Took gs to London yesterday. It's kid's theatre week so his ticket was free. Used Tesco Deals to pay towards lunch and contributed an extra £1.35, so not expensive. Back is complaining after that so a quieter day today. Taking gs and a friend to Bicester to look at the new hobbycraft and lakeland. Should probably leave my cards at home!!!
