but thats not the case as I had to go for 3 months without bread flour earlier in the year because the shelves were being cleared as soon as they were restocked. (I'm not massively bothered anyway, its only bread)
My BM's gonna be delivered tomorrow though so yippee :j Luckily my mum :A got me some special milled flour (or something) and some sachets of yeast to go with my BM so I will be able to use it before my next MrT delivery next Tuesday.
I'll order bread flour next week as well as the mixes incase they're not in stock again(although my brain is really frazzled at the mo so not sure if I trust myself to weigh stuff out properly)

I did my shopping yesterday for a change, as I was hoping for some whoopsies at Mr M as it was BH and therefore early closing. Surprise surprise, there was very little about. But I did get 410g of cod loin reduced to £2.35 instead of £6 something, so we ate that last night in a tomato and parmesan type sauce.
I still have £11.08 to last me until Sunday :rotfl:so I'm guessing Friday's shop might be pretty meagre! DS has been messing up my grocery money though (long story) so really I shouldn't spend anything. I'm going to aim for £180 for September though, I don't know what's going to be happening or whether that's for 2, 3, 4 or 5... I'll know by the end of the week and if it's for more than 3 I'll adjust.
Scotsaver - many thanks for that, it's made my mind up and I'll probably pop along to Dartford Thursday of next week when I have some money in the kittyAt least I can usually find somewhere to park in Dartford.
((((hugs)))) to all, HWGA especially, sorry to hear of your loss, and BigBird happy birthday!

Evening all,
HWGA....condolences.
Went shopping to-day as I decided to treat DD2 to something 'nice' for dinner, and we needed potatoes.....only had €25 left of budget, so OH pay for rest...am now declaring spend of €300 for August as I refuse to buy any more food before the end of the month, although will probably do first September shop on Saturday.
Well done to those who are so far below their target...I suppose having 3 extra people most of the time since 19th July would have made a difference, although DD2 is very good at buying groceries when she is here, as she lives on bacon butties, cheese and ham she probably spends more than I do weekly.
Will be away 22nd September-06th October but think that I will try and do a little stockpiling of tins etc., DD4 and DGS2 will be here, but she usually buys her own food when I am away so won't need to consider her food.
Sleep well all
Marie

Not quite ready to declare yet but please could I be put down for £250 AGAIN!
I know I'm going to be over again!!! My 22 month old niece is coming to stay with us until next weekend so that should be fun with my 20 month old little girl! Didn't budget for her coming to stay but I've got most of the stuff in and she'll eat the same as her (well hopefully). They're very funny together - they both have to so the same thing at the same time and constantly chase each other and then hug. Will have my hands full and then back to school. Where have the holidays gone?

So, I invented something for dinner and it turned out to be delish :T
3 bean and prawn chilli- Serves 4-6
Tin chopped tomatoes
Large tin chick peas, drained
Tin baked beans
Large tin kidney beans, drained
1/2 onion, chopped finely
About 150g cooked prawns
1 tsp each of garam massalla, medium curry powder, chilli flakes/powder.
Whatever takes your fancy in your cupboard- I used a splash of garlic puree, worcestershire sauce, pinch of salt, 2tsp of sugar, about 50 ml milk, stock cube
Cook up the onion with a splash of oil and add the 3 spices. Cook until softened
Turn down the heat and add all the beans and the tomatoes
Add everything except the prawns and bubble up to reduce.
Add the prawns for the last 5 minutes of cooking
(I cooked it on low for about 3 hours and the flavours were amazing but it would have been nice enough after half an hour)
Serve on a bed of rice with a large dollop of sour cream and some Mr T's value tortilla chipsGod is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day
