Also one of our kitties has been missing now for 3 days, I fear the worst as she is very timid, small & quick & I can't see her going to anyone voluntarily. Methinks it is time to make some posters to put up in case anyone has seen her but I am not hopeful, not sure where I can contact & no, she isn't chippedThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

 Blast! I forgot my lunch today and had to buy a sandwich, banana and yogs. Luckily there is a MrT in Islington so I only spent £2.45 but it still stung knowing my sarnies were in the fridge. Stiil, they'll be alright for tomorrow. Have a good evening everyone and the best of luck to IOIWE and her man on their wedding day :T , how exciting! It's up to me now and nobody else.0

Hi everyone,
i made a huge spag bol today. enough for 4 adults, 2 kids and 3 small meal for the baby for the freezer. I also a veggy bolognaise for me i put 3 portions in the freezer.
Tommorow is a sausages and chips day i think. the students leave in the morning so i want to have a lazy cooking day!!! The next lot of students arrive on sunday so ill be cooking again then.
i wanted today to be another NSD but i needed F&V. im not well at the moment and i cant drive so £3.70 return bus fare to the next village to spend £4.11 on F&V!!!!!
i wish i could have walked, but a double buggy, a huge uphill walk all the way (2 miles) home, not even one level bit, and feeling unwell was all too much today. i just hope i feel better soon. i will really miss the whoopsie hunts at the supermarket (8 mile round trip) each week if i have to stop driving.
anyway enough rambling. hope everyone is ok. (and not spending any money!!!).

schueys_girl - nice to see you on here. You can ask anything you like and not feel silly because everyone's got to start somewhere and there's loads of experience and kindness to tap into here. Have you asked your mum what she buys each week? If you don't want to do that (independent type?) maybe you could sneak a look in her kitchen cupboards and see what's in there. Also, write lists!! Make one list of everything you both like to eat - even takeaways, then see if you can find out all the ingredients for each item - again even takeaways, and make a list of those, then have a look at one or two of the big supermarkets' websites (or mysupermarket.com) to check out prices of everything. Also have a look at some cookbooks - they mostly have recipes for 4, just halve everything to give you an idea of quantities. If you see a book you like maybe someone could buy it for you as a house-warming pressie, or you could look at a discount bookshop, or maybe one of the charity shops to get it as cheaply as possible. Plus there's all the recipes Mrs M gave you the link for. And stick to simple things to start with to build up your confidence. HTH
AlwaysHappy - well done on your NSD. First one's always the hardest - after that it gets easier, once you've done 10 you don't ever want to set foot in a shop again - but of course you have to don't you!!
Sashanut - fingers crossed your little kitty comes back. Cats do tend to stay away sometimes and it's really scary. Both my cats (sadly no more) were neutered, the female often stayed away for a night or two right from when she was little, the male never did but then he wasn't really a cat, he was a cross between a human and a dog and my son had to teach him how to climb!
