heres my tip for the day....don`t ever ever under any circumstances ever take your oh or ds shopping with you to tescos  i normally do my shopping online but oh said "ahhh cancel it i`ll take you instead" so off we trotted and the trolley got piled up with so much crap from them it was unbelievable  scotch eggs...sausage rolls...bags of bogof fruit pastilles...cream cakes
so much for my food budget this month as i spent double of what i would normally:rolleyes:
also my food budget might creep up as i am now eating for 2we found out about a week ago i am up the duff/bun in oven/preggers after 5 years of trying, was a huge surprise after all those years of nothing  maybe its just as well theres all that rubbish snack food in the fridge as some days i have felt so queasy smelling food that it has been a self service kitchen.
proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -

Hi GunsandBanjos - Asda do this http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/Shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?Product=1123&Store=2 if that helps. I have had them before and they taste the same as All Bran - flavoured cardboard!(only kidding, but it does taste the same)
I don't think Mr T or Mr S do one - they do their own bran flakes, but not the same.
CONGRATULATIONS ANGCHRIS! :T what lovely news! My sister tried for years and now has two beautiful little girls, so I know how precious it is to you, best of luck to you and your OH x
Morning all,:j
should be a NSD for me today - don't plan on going out unless I really have to so fingers crossed.
lots of paperwork to get through today - I think flylady methods are going to come into their own to break it up a bit - lots of 5, 10 & 15 min tasks to get me up and moving...
Oooh, need to go out and get hubby an anniversary card - it's our 20th today - and they said it would never last :happyhear

mrssnowy - thanks for the info on the Blackcurrants, shall pick them later in the week, there are loads on there and couldn't bear the thought of them going to waste. Love the idea that we are getting more "free" food from the Garden.:D
angchris - that's fantastic news, congrats, I think you deserve some of those "extras" that were put in your trolley.:D
denisefowler - Happy Anniversary - hope you have a fab day.:D
Saw the sun shining this morning when OH went out to work so thought I'd get a head start before the kids drag themselves out of bed. Have the Yoghurt Maker on and the BM on to make some Dough for rolls. Got a friend and her kids coming over tomorrow so want to get stuff made today. Already have HM sausage rolls made with Sage & Onion stuffing, also planning to make a HM Pizza so shall make the dough today and then put toppings on tomorrow, so cheap to do and can make it nice and big to feed everyone. Shall also make some HM Potato Salad, coleslaw, boil some beetroot from the Garden as they have come up to a good size now and then all I need to do tomorrow is make a bowl of salad leaves from the Garden.;)
Shall also give them some of the Muffins and Hobnobs that we made earlier this week, always put some in the Freezer so I know I'm ahead of myself.
Should be a NSD today, DD2 is off out to a friends for the day so DD1 said she will help me in the kitchen, she is really getting into this cooking/baking and I'm pleased. Also means I get to spend some quality time with her and have some girly chats.:D
Hope the sun continues to shine - have a great day everyone."WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Order from MrT arrived last night in one piece (first time ever lol!) - spent £30.02 (not as many BOGOFs as I thought obviously!). Lots of food in now but we don't have a freezer so will have to manage it carefully...!
Making leek & potato soup laterx

Congratulations Angchris!!!!!
Slightly O/T and I'm sure there is another thread so I'll look now but I am going to get a slow cooker this week. We've been all having porridge quite often and I've read that it is great made in the slow cooker. This will save me some time when I've got to get two children and a newborn out of the door in time for school. I'm not sure what size cooker to get or is there anything I need to look out for? Some say they are non stick, others don't mention this. I'd like to buy as cheap as possible but obviously not if it is false economy.
We have a caravan, I am thinking that a SC will be great for using when we are away.
Edit: My bank balance looks far healthier than normal and I can't work out why! I'm not sure if I have forgotten to pay something or it is just because I've been so careful with what I spend on groceries.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -

Morning all,
Congratulations Angchris and OH - that's great news.
Happy 20th wedding anniversary denisefowler and OH.
Hoping for a NSD today to get back on track after my spends of the last couple of days although it will depend if Mr M gets in the big sacks of potato which I need but have been out of stock recently - should be in any day I've been told. Had rigatoni sausage bake for tea last night which I had made and frozen before http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1197/rigatoni-sausage-bake - we all love this and I remove the sausage skins, divide the sausage in 3 then roll into little balls - reheated really well.
Happy moneysaving
