Spent another €53.83 today, leaves me with €126.40 to see me to the end of August...planning on using salad stuff, cabbage, onions and spinach from garden as much as possible and apples and rhubarb for my own fruit allowance at least...will have DD2, DDIL 1 and three grand-daughters to-morrow, then DS, DSIL from Friday, so may not make it even though there is very little space for any more food...will do my best as most of stuff in freezers could do with being used up.

Susan...happy anniversary...3 more years than me!

    Good luck to all

Just updating sig. Spent £19.19 on fruit, veg and some stock items, plus some milk and jam to make own yogs again. More than I was hoping to spend but some of it wash organic which pushed the price up and I also had to buy sunflower oil which I hadn't realised I was running short of. On the plus side, I didn't just pop stuff in the trolley, pretty well stuck to my list other than the milk and jam (but then I didn't buy the yogs on the list) and I'm still within budget at the moment. Think I've got about £40 to last until the 1st Sept. GS2 and GD2 both staying overnight tonight so have to get dinner for them, then GD2 off to her other gran in the morning and GS2 staying with me until Friday night - cooking for him and possibly dd. Haven't caught up on the thread today but will try to have a look tonight, but hope everyone's OK and not stressing over life in general. Checked my meter readings today, both under target - yippeee!!

    Dec GC £100/76.61/16.46/10.19 - £103.26
    Jan GC £100/64.20/20.91 (£14.89 left)

Less than half way through the month but halfway through the budget already and we are running out of things. Not sure if I will make it on my reduced budget. I'm trying to have a week using up stuff out of the freezer and cupboards but my DD has just moved house and has no cooker so am feeding her and DGD every couple of days as well. Yesterday we had value pasta and a jar of pasta sauce with grated cheese so that wasn't too expensive.

    Evening All

Have just had my first grocery spend today - going away is definately good for the Grocery Budget.

Really not having the time to read this thread this month it just moves so very fast.!!
I have spent £15.58 in the butchers today.
I bought 600g pork and leek sausages, 2lb of stewing beef, 1/5kg of pork, a small chicken and 900g of Bacon pieces. That will make at least 6 meals for us. Possibly seven. If I look on here I am bound to find some of the best ideas to make the meat work wonders.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
