Evening all,
Just popping in to update sig - another NSD for me today, yay!
Just realised yesterday that with all your inspiring ideas and challenges, I should be able to afford to have violin lessons again without having to reduce the amount I save each month. I've been thinking about it for a few months but the cost was always a big issue. While there is still the time factor to get around (practice takes up a lot of time), it's great to know that the money side of things is now doable! (I'm feeling a bit scared now, my main excuse has disappeared)
Thank you all for bringing a dream a bit closer! :jMarch 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU
April 2020 grocery challenge $744/$800
May 2020 GC $724.11/$750
June 2020 GC $370.31/$700
July 2020 GC $316.87/$7000 -
Well today I did my monthly shop in Lidl and the bill came to £21.20:j I am missing some things but they will have to wait until next month unless I get really desperate. I still have loads of loo rolls and bounty rolls so I am well stocked with them and a 3kg box of washing powder lasts me 12 months because I use a tiny scoop:eek:
My freezer is well stocked now - it even has a few treats in it too thanks to Lidl.
I would like some stardrops but have never ever seen them in any of the supermarkets by me:rolleyes:0 -
Hi :hello:
Had my 2nd GC spend of the month. Managed to find a MrT code again this week for £6 off. The total after the MOC came to £60.44 :j Quite chuffed cos this is one of my lowest GC spends :A and it included £16 for nappies plus some household stuff so it's quite good for me
My total is now £124.46 leaving £175.54 of my budget for the next 2 weeks
(:shhh: exOH gave me £360 this month for groceries, I've got £235.54 of that left but :shhh:)
Take care everyone

I learnt to play the violin when i was at school then stopped playing when i was 18. I took it up again a couple of years ago after a twenty year break. I can honestly say i 'lose' myself when i'm playing and i completely forget about any worries or stress. Keep going with the lesssons if you can afford it, it is so fulfilling.0 -

Do you have Wilkinsons or Home Bargains? I buy "Starclen" for my tiled and wooden floors from Home Bargains- its basically an own brand version- even in the same shape bottle. Under a pound, smells nice and it lasts for ages. Sounds like my DH, he has very expensive tastes. He'll say but it is only £1 or £2 but forgets how these pounds add up. I can say no to the children but since he earns the cash it isn't so easy.
We need shopping tomorrow as I can't drive/lift anything I have no choice but to take him. :rolleyes:Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
Another NSD for me
Then again I'm still in my pyjamas and haven't done anything other than virtual shopping all day

Hello everyone, hope you've had a good week- I can't possibly read all the posts since I last posted- there's thousands!:p
It's been scorching in Madrid this week (38 degrees:eek: ), even hot at night. Was glad to get back to UK even though it was pouring down. Had a good time though and loved the plazas full of little tapas bars. Too hot to drink much alcohol but enjoyed a few sangrias too:rotfl: !
Still must get back to the challenge now so that my bank balance can recover:rolleyes: :rotfl:.
Congrats to Chell:beer: !
KAATLADY did you get that curry pan sorted?
Welcome to the newbies:T !
Another motivation for the coming weeks is one of my buddies might be moving into our spare bedroom- so I'll have to clear a kitchen cupboard and space in the freezer etc. My tiny kitchen is very limited for storage space as it is, so I'll have to reduce the quantity of tins etc. I'll take a look at the Store Cupboard Challenge I think:p .
Anyway I'll stop waffling and go do some ironing:rotfl: :rotfl: .2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Hi everyone,
Just popped on to update signature - went to Tesco today to make use of £5 money off coupon - most of the things I bought were for presents so not included in the grocery challenge but stocked up with toilet rolls and Tesco fruit and fibre (much better and cheaper than the kelloggs one imo) and as a bonus got my free jar of coffee - not the usual brand my OH uses - but every little helps!
