I made yoghurt with ordinary semiskimmed, but scalded it first to get rid of any lurking nasties which would have grown with the yoghurt culture. It worked a treat and set quite firmly. Give it a whirl.
Good luck
Sue
Thanks, I had a quick google and found this too so I tried it and it looks good, so I will see how it tastes once its cooled :T

Hi mumoffour77,
I froze it in a dish which could then go in the oven when defrosted - it doesn't have a lid so I just wrapped it in a couple of layers of tin foil and it was fine.

Good Morning
Congratulations Angchris - great news.
Happy wedding anniversary denisefowler and OH.
NSD for me yesterday and today.
Have put lentil stew in slow cooker and taken rolls out of freezer. Have got some cooked apple to use up tonight and another bag of windfalls to chop and freeze. Sun is shining at the moment but if I put any washing out (load just finished) it is bound to rain. Off to work soon so won't risk it. Hope it stays sunny for all those at home.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Morning all
Back on to the NSDs for me today :T Not quite half way through my budget ..and we have 13 days left of this month -so we should be fine (depending on if the NAFFI have their bread flour in tomorrow and if its still on offerif its a YES to both questions then i will be spending quite a chunk there)
Todays dinner is going to be pasta... going to use up some patty pan, red chilli and fresh tomatoes from the garden along with onions then peppers, peas n mushrooms (from freezer), salami, chorizo then add a dollop of cream cheese to the sauce to take the edge off the tomatoes for hubby..
So a meal pretty much made up of odds n sodsbut one of our faves;)
Im going to save the seeds from the chilli to plant next year as they have done rather well -so i will try and grow more next year-hubby loves chillies..
Yesterdays dinner was a "1 pot wonder"... just chunks of potato and onion in a cast iron dish (find it roasts brilliantly) sausages -i have to add a drop of oil as my HM sausages don't give off any fat...then when nearly done i add big chunks of carrot (Home grown) and a mug of water-you may need to add more later..then about 5mins from the end i add gravy granules and some frozen peas and put back in the oven.... its lovely..quick, cheap and easy:T
I think next month im going to have to get another couple of batches of sausages made..may even venture into some different flavours.. when i worked out the price for the last lots i made each sausage came in at approx 5p :j and they are just meat n seasoning -no bread, fillers etc -so more filling too -so we eat less :T
I think today im going to finish planning n plotting what i want to get stored ready for winter etc... what other seeds i want for next year -although i do have quite a lot..and then im going to x stitch :T
have a great day everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I just use red lentils as its what i have in the cupboard, i dont soak them, just chuck a handful in. You do need a little extra liquid though as they soak up loads. Not sure about other pulses, they may need soaked? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
