Elona - good luck to lipstick violation!!!!!
Everyone seems to be cooking chickens today - I've got one roasting that we'll have with salad later. Too hot to breathe...Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Hope you don't mind my posting here too.
I'm cooking some chicken thighs and drumsticks I managed to find for 50p from Morrisons a while ago, and we'll be having that with salad. I want to make a pasta salad too, but I'm not sure whether I can be bothered.
AndI just realised I have ironing to do today
Hope everyone has a nice Sunday though

Went to the Julian Graves sales and got pecan nuts, sun dried toms, and mixed fruit. Bought my shelf rack but cannot be bothered to put it up atm (it involves moving all the !!!! out of my living room)
Fizzel - that is good news about your damp getting fixed. We had rising damp in a house we used to live in (in the partition wall in the middle of the house ). Our landlords response was that it was 'not really a problem, just a bit unsightly'. Fortunately he had forgotton to put a minimum term on our tenancy, so we were able to move out straight away.We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Really hot day here and have just walked back with shopping so shattered.
Going to put salmon fillets in the oven with some stuffed mushrooms and have broccoli , asparagus and new potatoes to go with it.

I need to make some bread as well - because I am trying to go low carb I do not notice when the bread is disappearing.
I'm not sure where to put this request and feel embarassed asking, but DD(14) and some friends have entered a competition to win a makeover and a day in London and would love to make it to the top three.
The name they have chosen is "lipstick violation" and we would be really grateful if a few people would vote for them.

Hi again
WELCOME FRUGAL SWAN AND DIFFERENT CORNER :hello: .
Am trying to keep DS in for a bit having been down the beach for several hours. Don't like him to be out in the sun too much although he doesn't tend to burn, I do slather factor 40 on him. He would be outdoors all day if I let him.
No idea what to have for tea. It's so hot here it puts me off eating, might have a salad later. There's no breeze here and it's so humid, we really need a storm to clear the air. I must say i like a good storm.
Have had a cabbage white laying her eggs on my cauli seedlings so need to sort that out, before any more get eaten.
Have a good evening all.

Evening all
Can't believe it's nearly 7 o'clock.
We've been in the garden all day rearranging things and OH has made my raised beds and prepared the area where the greenhouse will go. :j :j :j :j :j :j
He has now taken the girls to a little fresh water loch to try and catch some fish. I have cried off as the house is a tip. I did go with them last night and managed to catch 2 brown trout.Sadly there were a bit small so I put them back.
I've sent them with a late supper of HM lentil soup and cheese and HM pickle sarnies. We dug up the spuds today and it's a lovely crop. :j So I want to get my Christmas spuds in this week. The veggies are all doing well and I'm hoping with the greenhouse that the tomatoes will finally ripen. I spotted 2 aubergines on my plant today.
Other than that I need to tidy up and pack as we're off to Glasgow tommorrow for a night as I have a neurology appt on Tuesday and we thought we'd take the girls to the Science Centre while we're there.
So I'll see you all on Wednesday evening.
Congratulations Candynan. :T :j
Hope Master Pixiedust is better today.
