Morning Guys!
Ive been up since 4.30 and feel whacked out. OH & DD are still in bed, so have just made myself a coffee.
I will try and get OH to take pictures of the veg and blackberries. His garden plot is quite small but everything is growing so well.
WM is on ATM and toilet cleaned. Rest of the house is all clean and tidy. The cleaner cleaned the oven and all inside windows whilst we were away and it all looks lovely.
Our delivery came from Ocado yesterday afternoon and the £15 off a £90 voucher came off fine. Total cost was £76.00, but thats enough for around 2 weeks. With all the bargains they had I probably saved around £35, so am very pleased with that. Got some nice meat from there and have frozen it.
Whilst we were away OH & DD went to a Bootsale and managed to get 4 packets of Knorr Lamb boxes of stock cubes for £1, 3 big bottles of Ribena squash for £1, 3 HUGE packets of Waitrose mixed nuts, seeds and dried fruit for £1 and 18 packets of small individual KP peanuts for £1. They are all out of date but all fine
Anyway, I can hear movement. Hope eveyone has a great day.

Hugs to all.

Morning all,
Another one here who is going to have a look at capping gas/elec as well.
Hopefully will motivate myself enough to do some clearing/tidying today - may have to shut the cats in the kitchen so I can have the french doors open; it's too hot for us to all be shut in!
I was also going to make a cake - think there will be lots of people baking this weekend then??
Catowen, hope your head feels better soon.

Good Morning All
N9eav - I know what you mean, I feel like we are going back in time. I have the 1940's house on my sky+ and mean to watch it soon to get some idea of what I need to get used to.
Very warm here already have load of towells washing and just about to jump into a very cool bath. Didnt sleep that great because of the heat.
No real plans today, DS has a friendly football match at 10.30 so need to take plenty of drinks for him, luckily its at a lovely park in Maldon so will have a mooch around afterwards. Think rest of the day may be a bike ride down to the water then a barbeque. Havnt done my menu plan, find it really hard when the kids are on holiday and the weather is hot.
Have a great day all.

Hi everyone
Made it home around fine 1 a.m. yesterday, after calling on DS loading him up with goodies from Spain, and treating him to a nice meal, managed to get my "free" Bband set up and connected via a couple of phone calls, and ended up buying a new router. My old one was playing up before I went and was going to have a go at it, did switch it on and it worked, but then went to switch it on again and it didn't light up, 7 years old so ended up buying a new one. But back and connected.
(((hugs))) as needed not read back yet, and birthday wishes/congratulations for any missed.
Must get hour cleaning head on today, as you can write you name in the dust after 2 months+ and unpacking always = chaos. One clean and tidy will then start on emptying the bedroom for the ensuite to be installed a week on Monday, still need to check date with builder though.
Re the utility capping - just done mine via a Martin link, £75 back via quidco for Scottish Power, and capped to 2011. Unfortunately this one is now gone well the £75 only, I was with E-On and I did change my tarriff with them, I used to control it on line so maybe that is how to have a look, and they offered me a capped rate recently too, but the £75 swung it, though I did lose my Tesco points on my energy payment which was a small bonus.
What makes you think that bath water sharing is back to the 40's, we had a coal board house as a child, heated by coal fires only, and the rule of the bath water was Mum, me, brother, Dad. Dad obviously had his daily shower at work anyway, 50's to mid 60's before we moved.
Still concerned at using 25% of last years units for last quarter while here only 3 weeks of it. Will be taking some readings as we used things to try to understand, but have a poorly dryer at the moment so will not be using that until replaced.
 to all and especially those whose names I do not recognise, yet.

:hello: Good morning!
We are getting quite worried about the price of gas and are with British Gas and not sure what to do so must go read martins e mail.
DD is down so we are off into town later to try to find her a suit for work in the sales. I won't be able to keep up with her though - she can shop for England! lol! so I am hoping to find a hairdresser with space free to do me a shampoo and blow dry. Otherwise I will have to make a hash of it and dh and I are off to a reunion do tonight.
Breakfast is melon (sains basics) with strawberries and a reduced price (10p) danish with coffee.
Lunch - Ham salad
dinner - buffet
Have a lovely day!
Catowen - hope the headache goes soon

Morning everyone *hugs all round*
I finally started reading my slow cooker book last night, I've only had it a couple of years *coff*. OH got up at some ungodly hour and didn't go back to bed so I had a few hours stretched out over his side too. It's already getting warm in here but my morning milky coffee is present and cooling, I've given up snacks to try and lose weight, and it's time to let the chicken out.
As for the gas/electric - going to just have to grin and bear it for now as we plan to move before the end of the year... then we'll go with solar and wind power as much as possible.

:hello:
Mornin everybody,
(((((((((HUGS)))))))))to all today needed or not
Looks like it may be another lovely day here, the forecast says 24degs so its gonna be a warm one, here in Brum.
Off to see Mum and MIL in a bit, so in the car for a while today, Mum lives quite near in Bournville so its only 5mins away, but MIL lives in solihull so thats 40mins, thank god we got air-con in the car, dont use it much but it has been really useful with this hot weather.
All this talk of switching suppliers has made me wonder if we need to do something have to check it out later.I think we are with eon
Went into uswitch for the water, and have requested a water meter, as looking at the calcs online we could save almost £100 a year, sounds too good to be true, but you never know.
Better go OH has his grumpy head on today:mad: hate it when he`s like that
Enjoy your day everybody
Back later
Anne

very grey here at the moment. hope it clears up a bit so I can get some gardening done.
yesterday OH and I shared the ironing pile and got it all done which was no mean feat I tell you. It was huge with all the holiday washing. did a few loads of washing too, so basket has filled up again
today no OSing. meeting some colleagues I worked with over 10 years ago for a meal tonight. looking forward to it, but at the same time feel a bit apprehensive after so long. kids have plans of their own and OH is working nights. so no cooking required today.
must check out this power email.
have a good day everyonex x x0 -
Morning folks,
catowen Where will you be doing your carboot? I am likely to be out at the Plymouth carboots tomorrow - can't find any in Tavy yet!
Off to work again in a minute - gosh I am exhausted. Definantly not working next Saturday, I need a break!
I am on a key meter with my electric, and it has really cut my useage down as I can keep an eye on it. I know I am paying OTT for units, but when I was on DD I would get a massive bill every quarter because I would just use it without thinking about it.
Right, have a good day all :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
