yes bh but because my girls have left home we are now in a 3 bed, with just us 2,so i think the H/A only pay a certain amount. Think from websites we have to find about £20 a wk the rest we get paid for us,at least i hope so.

Aw! D that is so crAp. Sorry to hear that you are struggling.

We got a set of shelves off Freecycle and loads of orange builders buckets. DH punched holes in the bottom and we have planted them up.We've had so much salad stuff it's been brilliant. We have also picked up a water butt, compost bin and cold frame. We have planted up potatoes in an old black plastic bin as well.

    Oooh Dalip...chin up sweetheart xx

Thankyou for this thread it really highlights that there is very little support for unemployment...even when we have paid out tax & NI for all these years!

Use Ebay, car boots all the MSE advice you can find to get through this....& register with all the recruitment agencies in your area. Also see what the job centre people say as they may have other benefit options for you.

You get used to looking in reduced isle at certain times and freeze it. I can do food shop on 28.00 plus milk 5.00 for 4 of us myself, hubby, 15yr old and 6yr old. OK we love pasta and use lots of pots/veg to fill out plates.

Weigh and save shops are good, you just get enough cereal to last you the week. I've gone in for a half scoop of sugar midweek. Cheaper than full bag.

Hope this helps, our dogs are on chappie complete dry food. 2.5kg bag is just under 3.00 and last my 2 about 10 days.
