MARLEYBOY I'm sorry that you felt like a charley but I'll bet everyone was so engrossed in their own business that they didn't even think about you being on your own. Be brave and try again. Like riding a horse it should get easier as you go.

Aww I am sorry to hear you haven't been well Rugbymum, have a dubious hug! :grouphug:

Date number two with my hunky Scot was a bit of a fizzle thanks to the X-Files film not being so hot, but we had a long chat in the car and things worked out well, now I just need to work on not doing the good old self sabotage deal :rolleyes2

Hi folks. I just *have* to join in here. I was putting it off by starting to read from the beginning, but I realised I'd have to just jump in eventually.

So, this is me. Single and in debt, and *longing* to be out of it. I'm kind of antisocial anyway, which is why I'm single, but I do want more companionship and activities than I have now, life is pretty unbalanced at the mo.

I'm afraid I'm older than most of the people on here too, thats another thing thats isolating, but we can only start from where we are. So this is me, starting off again.

I am in the same situ, single, two cats! Lots of debt (£20k) and a mortgage on my own, I know what you mean about it being lonely, sometimes you just need someone to tell you that it will all be ok and a bit of encouragement!

I also think it is hard to meet someone when you are trying to become debt free as you dont have the money to go out and meet someone, IYSWIM!

To be honest, I was with someone for 9 years, and I found it harder sometimes to be with someone who didnt understand my mission to be debt free!! I find it easier to just have myself to worry about to be honest!!

Keep your chin up, you can do it, take each day as it comes and you know that there is always plenty of support and encouragement for you here.

  • Tall is the holy grail as far as I'm concerned! Alongside the other requirements (ability to make me laugh being number one on the list)! I want to be able to wear heels!! If anybody knows where all the tall men are can you point some in my direction?? ;)

Hello everyone! Are we all having a good week? xx

Agreed. They have to be tall and they have to have make me laugh. And this one was both. Hooray. :j

Not arranged a second date yet but he's already text me saying what a nice time he had and he hopes to see me soon :D

I'm playing it cool though. Don't want him to think I'm TOO interested

Yes, I do that self sabotage thing. It comes from thinking too much in my case. I overanaylse everything including 'why does he want to be with me?' 'when is he going to leave me?' 'there are plenty of other girls much prettier/funnier/nicer than me, so why would he stay?'

Then when I'm single I'm like 'I'm pretty, funny and nice. Why can't I find a man?'

    There's no hope
