Thanx! My gut feeling is to go im sick of being sensible (hence reason for no other outstanding debts). Feel that its a good opportunity to experience life in a sunnier climate as feel just stuck in a rut with all household bills to pay and not being able to afford experiences to get out and socialise even with moneysaving things in place. Just a bit weary incase i make a wrong move and end up with nothing to show for it on my return.
I know I ultimatley wont find the answer here but just good to hear others thoughts on it. All replies welcome x0 -
the thing is go figures, if you don't go you will probably live to regret it, i too hate been sensible with money but i tend to be good for 3 weeks in the month then spend it thinking haven't i done well0

I've thought about doing this lots of times, and I think ultimately I will end up doing it, I'm just not ready yet. If you think this is a good opportunity to do it then I think you should0 -
Hi there,
I have also been a lurker on this site for a while now!
I am almost 31, a single Mum to a gorgeous 6yr old boy and have been on my own pretty much since my son came along.
3 years ago I managed to clear the debt which my ex-husband left me with but my terrible, awful credit rating continues to follow me around like a bad smell. I cannot get accepted to even look at a credit card, let alone get someone to give me one!!! And the only reason I want one is to try and improve my credit rating - grrrrrr!
I just wanted to say that it is a fantastic idea for a thread, getting emotional support from others in the same position. As happy as I am in my little world, sometimes being the only earner and completely responsible for keeping the roof over our head feels very, very heavy indeed!
Reading everyone else's posts really helps, thank you!

Hi sarah, same boat!! I've just got another job, thats 3 in total. I WANT A HUSBAND WITH A JOB!!!!!!! It can be very frustrating. I wish I had been more sensible and starting saving when the tooth fairy was still visiting. Although on a serious note, I am a homeowner (shoebox flat) and car and unless you have a professional career or live with someone who earns money, I think its almost impossible to juggle all expenses these days. Sometimes I think I'll move back with mother then I'll be rich!!! I'm also sick of people saying "two jobs, you must be loaded" Sorry, I'm moaning, so with 3rd job I may be able to go on holdiay next year. At the end of the day the hard truth is that a second job may be the answer for you, something social so at least you're not sitting home alone, you'll be meeting people and live in hope that one day Mr "I'd like to share your mortgate payments/bills" may arrive Ha Ha0

Hi PastyMc - 3 jobs - wow, i really need to take a leaf out of your book - i have been pondering abt a second job for a while now but havent a clue where to start or what i want to do. Hmmm getting paid to stay at home and watch tv would be perfect
on the dating note - i logged onto my facebook a/c where i have the "are you interested" application - i have been sent some flirts from a couple of guys, so i have sent 3 back - will keep you all posted.
The good thing abt the facebook application is its freei'm sure there are other dating ones on there too that might be worth adding.

If i could i would go, It sounds as if its the perfect time for you to go - no other commitments apart from your place - can you not rent out your flat while you move to your mums and travel?0 -
Hello all, and welcome to the newbies. How exciting that we were on the email!!! Fame at last
Thought I'd let you know that I went on my date tonight (was close to cancelling at one point) and it went really well. :j
I shall keep you updated, but it's obviously far too early to tell if it's going anywhere, but it's a good start and he was much more interesting than 'nice but boring'. I think I shall call this one 'tall and interesting'

Well I would recommend you try Okcupid.com as I met my handsome Scot on there
Its completely free and has plenty of things to keep you entertained .. I loved its way of matching ... this never ending opinion quiz thing as well as other fun testsI think I enjoyed it more then a simple pop up your profile thing as the tests amused me
If you don't want random chat windows opening up you can turn the IM to 'off' in the top left hand corner0
