    Samaritans thing is an idea, not even necessarily them but volunteering would be a way of meeting folk and doing something worthwhile too - would prefer that to sitting on my own in a pub feeling like an eejit!

    If you don't fancy taking the phone calls, I'm sure that they would be only too happy to have you on the fundraising team.

    If you have the time, it's a great way of getting your face out in the big wide world. And it looks good on your CV!
