Anyone else sat in by themselves on a Saturday night? To add insult to injury Bridget Jones' Diary is on. Grrr! Am currently working my way through a new book on dating, which I bought during my Starbucks trip, but was too embarrassed to get out and read in the coffee shop. Didn't want to look too desparate! I already have a shelf groaning with self help books, so didn't really need another one, but it's quite interesting. Unfortunately I can't practice the things it's telling me I have to do until I actually find a someone to date!

I have just purchased to my absolute SHAME "how to succeed with men"

I won't even read it downstairs in case some one sees it!!

I am self help book queen, one plus they sell very well on GreenMetropolis!

because the minute i fancy a bloke it becomes so important that I don't screw it up that I screw it up! and I don't really think there are any "rules" anymore anything goes so sometimes I think we don't know where we stand?

Yes but the things is hun, us blokes do that to, I know I would, making a complete prat of myself I just find it strange how we both stumble that way. Im sure im not the only bloke who does that too.

Mine *blushes furiously* is called "It's just a date," and it is actually quite good! Am reading it in secret though. I am absolutely a self help book queen- much good it's done me! Still, being shy doesn't help, I don't care what any of the books say, doing some of the things they advise you to do take just too much nerve/confidence. However, the one I am reading now does at least tell me some of the things I have been doing wrong, have been cringing with recognition!

I think I will have to do some of the simpler things they advise though, can't carry on like this and need to keep taking more steps out of my comfort zone. Feels very daunting! But I keep saying to myself, what is the alternative- carry on like this? That hasn't been a successful plan so far.

Could never sell them though, I refer to them too much, not sure if that's a good thing, but it makes me feel better at the time.
