Well, the new guy has phoned a couple of times now. He just phoned again to say that he had plans for tonight but will cancel them if I fancy meeting him. So he's away to speak to his pals then call me back. I'm a nervous wreck.:o I'm not sure this dating malarkey is good for me afterall.

He sounds really keen. That's a good thing!! And it's good for you to be out of your comfort zone. Once you get there you'll relax anyway and have a lovely time (unless he brings his parents of course :rotfl: )

Update: he's now called me several times (from a lously mobile line - hard enough talking to a new person on the phone withiut the line breaking up all the time:rolleyes: ) and sent me a fair few texts. I'm going to meet him after work. Brickin' it! But, as runmichellerun says, it'll probably do me good. I'll let you all know how it goes. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Well I did it! Went to Starbucks, it was in a bookshop, so bought 3 books first, £19.97 (not very DFW, am addicted to books!), then another £5 on coffee and cake (am addicted to coffee and cake as well). Went and sat in the cafe with my books, stayed there for an hour and reallly enjoyed it! There was a man sat by himself a few tables away and I certainly didn't think "oh gosh, how wierd," so I'm now quite confident that people wouldn't think that of me either. Feel silly now that I was so anxious! Still couldn't go in to a pub for a drink by myself at this stage though. Baby steps! Am planning another trip now, so nice to sit there with coffee and cake and a good book. Went in to Next and saw 2 lovely pairs of shoes, £45 each, but managed to walk away. They are still calling me though. I think I need them!

It's incredible the confidenc boost this kind of thing gives you. A month ago I was totally heartbroken and miserable. Now I feel much better about so many things and I feel attractive again! I'm not looking for anything serious (way too soon) but at least I'm having a laugh and meeting new people.

So thank you to everyone on this thread who has given me the inspiration to kick my own but and get back out there.:T :T :T

I know what you mean, I am so keen to get out there and actually do something now! Need someone to flirt with! I really miss that! I want to lose a little bit of weight first though, and practice with all that expensive make up I own but hardly ever wear.

Exactly what I think! Am so glad I started this, and so glad I have all of you here to listen to my trials and tribulations! They would probably sound silly to anyone else, find it much easier to tell everything anonymously here. Now I have the hammer I am going to keep using it!
