Hi everybody - hope you all have a great Saturday!
Just a quick post, I am still in my jamas (!) and should be getting things done!
Going to watch United play Liverpool on telly at lunchtime, then gonna hit the shops to look for an outfit
Wish me luck, catch up later xSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Gosh remember this post back all those months ago ... well he just popped up and started chatting to me again (think my block list got purged or something as he was blocked but not on my friends-list) I think I have this vibe where the men who bail on me keep turning up and sniffing around again when they feel like :o
  Ossiereo that's just rude after all this time. I hope you have now reblocked him permanently. It's not a nice feeling to know that you're on someones "can get back to later" list. I had a similar experience with a guy on one of those sites; we arranged to meet for a drink, I emailed him to confirm the day before & he said he'd 'forgotten' about the date & couldnt make it anyway as he'd met someone at a party  . Next thing I know he's chatting to someone else I knew on the site & when she told him where to go he then came sliming around me again - idiot .
* is very glad to have chosen the BAV path until further notice*
PS - guess what, those 4 lbs had reappeared this morning, think the previous day's weigh in must have been a fluke0 -

Do what I do. Weigh yourself AFTER going to the loo.
Sorry to hear of your and Ossireo's problems with boys. I would call them men but it appears they are not worthy.0 -
Hi PaulGBDF,
My experience was years ago & I dont have any problems with boys or men anymore
I am thoroughly enjoying my singledom right now; I'm focused on working to live & pay off the debts, living life each day & experiencing every moment. I have plans for my garden, plans for my home, plans for my life & have realised that I am fulfilled in many ways & actually quite happy with the freedom to do as I chose with my spare time :j
Glad to hear you've plenty of work on, how's things for you right now ?0 -

I'm doing OK thanks Lula. Life would be a lot better without the debts but I'm slowly chipping away at them. I want to be totally debt free in 10 years (I'll be 61 then). I want to lose the unsecured debts by the London Olympics and the mortgage by March 2019. It's all achievable but needs to be worked at. The important thing is that I feel reasonably happy most of the time.
Like you, I love my freedom - though I do sometimes feel the desire for a good woman in my life. The trouble is that that desire is what messed things up 12 years ago. It's hard to believe that 12 years ago, I owed about £200 plus a small mortgage. I had a very small mortgage and hardly any debt to speak of. Now I have a big mortgage and bucketloads of debt - and it's the same property.
I could get really stressed thinking about how my life might be if I hadn't fallen in love with an obsessive spendaholic but I let go of that some while back because dwelling on it would make me bitter and I just want to feel good really.
I decided to love and embrace my life for all its ups and downs.
I think Rudyard Kipling refers to "triumph" and "disaster" as impostors in the poem called "If". I reckon he was spot on.0 -
Hmmm, I know just what you mean about getting stressed over the past  .
I am making it part of my ethos to let the past lie where it has fallen. I've spent too much time feeling anguished & bitter at my present financial status; ultimately it was my decision & now I'm learning from my experience.
I once tried to trace back through my life to the exact point where it all went wrong... I concluded that although some experiences were very harsh & distressing at the time, they have made me the person I am today & I quite like myself & am proud of what I have achieved although much of that could not be valued in monetary or status terms. So whatpart of what I've learned about life is that having the most expensive toys (house, cars, holidays, clothes, hairdos etc) is not going to prevent me from dying one day, those with more wealth may be able to buy themselves more time, but ultimately it's going to happen to us all & I'm not going to stress myself out by trying to achieve what others perceive to be symbols of achievement.

Hi Paul and Lula
You are both making so much sense!! I know that I need to develop a 'what's done is done' attitude and persuade myself that the person I am is fabulous!! :j And doesn't need to be validated by anybody else :rolleyes:Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -

That happened to me on msn the other week thought it was weird, so I blocked them again.
