    I hear what people have to say about my 'friends' but they are important to me. I've always cut and run when things have gone wrong, and it always feels like I'm left with nothing. The mate who 'forgot' to tell me she had the flu is the mother of my Godsons, so if I cut her out, I cut them out too, but maybe that would be no bad thing. I don't want to sound like a brat, but since she had kids, it's impossible to sit and have a nice coffee with her and just be two friends anymore. Her kids punctuate everything. Lovely as they are, it's sometimes really frustrating to be at hers as you have so much you want to talk about, some really important sensitive things you need advice on, and you'll say something like, "My Mum's cousin is in a hospice with a brain tumour........." and her reponse is, ".............oh that's nice, Iain, put that down or you'll hurt yourself.......................so what was that about someone's cousin's Mum's birthday?"

    I sounds really selfish, don't I? God I sound like a complete !!!!!! :p

    Dodgy hugs BGB :grouphug:

    I can get where you coming from, I had a friend like that, she was great when I had some personal problems & she was single but once she got married & had a child everything changed, I know people's priorities change & you can't expect then to drop everything for you but I'd go round there (at her invitation) 'cos I really needed to talk (in person, not texts, not e-mails, etc) & when I'd worked myself up to able "to get things off my chest" she'd cut into the conversation with "oh, hang on a minute OH has forgotten we need milk, I'll ring him" & then say, "you ok ? what were you saying ? oh that's good you're ok" without me ever having the chance to finish what I'd started to say :mad:
    In the end I withdrew from her & put more effort into some of my other mates

    That was a lovely kind and thoughtful post. You have a real way with words, mine always seem to come out sounding cold or uncaring!

    Aw thanks hon, that's very sweet of you :kisses3: I just happen to know what it's like trying to have a conversation with kidlets, only one of my frineds has them ( I chose the others far more wisely ;) )

    sarahb - to answer your earlier post about xbf/loser ( do tell me to shut up if anyone's sick of hearing about it, I know i am :rolleyes: ) I think you are right & he is truly bonkers;

    The last conversation before I decided to follow PaulGBDFs advice ended with me saying "it's over so just get that in to your head & F O - wasnt so nice with my words then :o - he text on sat afternoon to say he had lots of eggs if I wanted them :confused: :rolleyes: & ignored it but made a note that his mobile now back in operation. He called a couple of times from home & I just had a feeling he was going to turn up so that's when we dimmed the lights etc... He started circling & going up & downs the road & calling the home phone & mobile alternately then eventually went :T . This morning I had an email saying " what happened last night, have I done something wrong again ? I wont phone you, will wait for you to make contact" . then as I posted earlier he started ringing the home phone & mobile again every 20 minutes for over 3 hours. He is totally & utterly barking mad. I'm not scared at all & yes am keeping a record of all calls. It just baffles me as to how "F O" can be misinterpreted as " oh please come over on saturday night & rather than knock on the door just keep ringing & driving up & down the road" Idiot :rolleyes:

    I decided to keep the nifty fifty he posted & have already paid it off my credit card :rotfl:

    Hello Sarah - did I read somewhere that offered Lula a place to hide in your wardrobe from xbf ?

    Surely you haven't sorted out that much stuff that you actually have space in there :eek:
    (Lula - I'm not trying to say you'd take up alot of room - honest :rotfl: )
