can I tag on at the end, single, 37, 5 yr old daughter, stuck living with parents due to health conditions and Im in debt, its 4.5k on credit cards 1k bank overdraft and 4k to parents. What fun life is!! x

35, female, single from Cumbria (any more northeners out there?), two kids aged 4 (almost 5) and 10months.

Have to agree with you on some of that too dolly. There is always good with the bad, and I wouldn't have had half the life experience I'd had if got married and had kids younger.....and if I hadn't stuck with hubby for what 15 years wouldn't have two gorgeous kiddies. Still, don't want to think I'll be single for ever. It just seems that taking risks didn't seem so scary when I was younger!

I've used a few dating site in the last 3 years and although there have been the odd couple of 'strange' people, I have also made at least 4 friends that I keep in touch with.

I'm still 'sort of' single (have been seeing someone for approx 5 weeks now - via a dating site) but would still like to join in if possible....

I thought I was the only thirtysomething ...no house ...no kids.....no nothing really ,type left in the UK.This thread is just fabulous.I have decided to deal with my mindless spending, and stop buying (tons) of rubbish I dont need. My weakness is overpriced cosmetics, and Im surrounded by a mountain of various lotions and potions that are still new in boxes (Ebay here it comes) . Yet I am have having to be very thrifty at the supermarket ,and cant really afford anything else,even afford lunch for work .
I think I have had what you call a lightbulb moment.

Im 33 in a few weeks ,and feel a little low about having nothing apart from a pile of perfume.

It could be worse bebelle - you could have nothing at all. And 33 isn't so bad (just done it myself!). Get that stuff on ebay and you'll be able to eat soon enough;)

Hello bebebelle! Don't feel low - I think we're all guilty of the odd (ok then regular) splurge on things we don't really need - but surely that is what Ebay is for?!
