Hi all, have been doing some spending today:rolleyes: I have spent £21 on 3 books, saw them in Waterstones today but waited until I got home to see if they were cheaper online, which they were, used a code and went through Quidco, also bought a jumper for £10, reduced from £35 and a skirt for £19, reduced from £60.

Added to the shoes I bought the other day I should be really pleased because they were all bargains and I will use them but I am feeling a bit guilty and anxious about it all, I must stop this spending. Yes, they were all great reductions which before I would have bought without thinking at full price and they are all lovely and I will get good use from them, but I did not need them. (Well I did ish, need things that fit, rather than sit in bags in the wardrobe.)

On the plus side, my new cc arrived today and I have set up a dd to pay the full amount each month, I will get £25 worth of vouchers if I spend £200 on it in the next 3 months, so shall get food and petrol and pay it in full each month, but am anxious about cc spending again I think, although have never had a dd set up for the full amount before, only the minimum:o Also got £40 through Quidco for it, so am quite pleased with that. Think I am just a bit worried because my spending monster seems to have returned.
Anxiety might be also due to just checking online banking:eek: I must start running it in credit again, am sick of counting backwards.

SuSu: Well done on meeting this new bloke but I definately agree about taking it slow. In fact I would say that you should do NOTHING until the divorce is finalised. My dad left my mum about 9 months ago and he revealed his new woman about a week later... NOT a good move! If he'd waited until now when the divorce is finalised it wouldn't have mattered but while he's a married man don't go there! His daughter may like you now but you don't want her to blame you for the split...

Sarah: I hope you're going to add those clothes to your sig! You've only got 79 quid left for the next 11 months! Keep us posted on the cc spending and we'll lick you into shape!

bgb: yes halifax are complete bagels but I have to stick with them for at least another 18months til I finish my degree....

    Evening all,

BGB - on your behalf
SuSu - agree with others & particularly TDQ re being branded 'the other woman' but really hope it all works out for you :D

Sarah - glad that you've voiced your concerns about the return of the spending monster, I've had some worries about it myselfs but didnt feel it my place to say anything... however, now that you've brought it out in the open :

STOP SPENDING woman:naughty::D . If I have to stop getting involved with unsuitable men then the very least you can do in return is to try & curb your habit ;) .... hmmmm maybe we should swap for a bit :rotfl:

Excellent tab keeping TDQ by the way :T

I know you are right:o When it gets to the stage that it is starting to make me feel anxious even I know it is time to stop:o I think a lot of it has to do with setting up the new cc today, feels like a step backwards, however I did call the other cc company to cut the limit on the card to prevent any more spending on that, and the new one will be paid in full each month.

I can't think of anything else I need (she says again) I think the best thing is just to keep away from the shops completely, it worked very well for January, and to stop looking at the online sales. I need to fit into the clothes I already have:o I have enough clothes, shoes and toiletries for [STRIKE]to infinity and beyond [/STRIKE]2009 now, so I shall stop. I do always report back on here, so you can shout at me if I do it again.

I am trying to pay/save £20k this year and I really want to do it as it will make a massive difference to things, am not going to do it if I carry on like this, so first things first, I will tackle the overdraft. I will lose 10lbs and be free of the overdraft by May 1st.
