    Thanks peeps

I've still got to sort out all the logistics etc next week but I'm pretty damn excited!

Sounds like you've all been having fun... Sarah I can't believe you got over £400!! That's awesome!

Rosa: It was pure bravado, I did nothing more than smile and nod at a couple of girls. I did have a great night out with some awesome people though.

Lula - he sucks! You don't put out the wrong vibes. You're lovely (in a strictly heterosexual way!). If he doesn't understand things then thats his problem not yours. There are plenty of other nice, sane, stable fish in the sea. Sadly they are always the ones who struggle with the concept of the raised toilet seat.

Thanks guys, I am ok, just a bit shaken.

My own fault for not taking the depth of O/Fs feelings into consideration. I was so busy getting him to babysit the other night I didnt think things through. He got a bit too attached & I had to make myself clear. It got a bit unpleasant but no damage done.

How do I always pick the unstable ones  really feel that I'm safer just being alone as I obviously put out the wrong vibe.

I'm really mad at myself for not seeing this coming & for causing him to react so badly.

I really should know better by now

No-one causes someone else to react in a certain way. We all are able to choose our own reactions.
So don't go blaming yourself eh?
I've made some bad choices down the years as well so perhaps I have some idea where you're coming from.
I think my problem was that, deep down, I feared rejection. So I ended up being with women who were maybe a bit clingier than most (i.e. those who were less likely to reject me). They weren't conscious choices but they were choices just the same and they led to all sorts of problems.
As with most of my personal stuff, the key has been to improve my self esteem so that I'm better able to cope with rejection if it happens i.e. not basing my relationship choices on the possibility of rejection but on whether I actually want to be with someone.

There are plenty of decent men out there who want to be in a healthy relationship. Maybe it's better to learn to read the signs rather than throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Sorry to hear about your distress.

Hey Lula - don't be so hard on yourself. We can't control how other people think and react and as hard as it was to have to make yourself clear when he got too attached, you were kind and honest in doing that. It's not your fault he reacted as he did - perhaps he misread things too.
Hopefully you are feeling a bit better now. We have all done it at some point. These things can be tricky to navigate.
