Last dregs of wine now being consumed & new bottle inserted into empty space - all is well in lulaland
Going to slide off to bed now & watch film / read book / delight in not having to get up when I wake up tomorrow.
Night night all & will catch up sometime over the week end

I have a subscription to Red, got it with Nectar points, and She - and Tuesday just wouldn't be Tuesday with Closer!!! Try to limit myself to just these 3 now, but it's a struggle!!! In fact, I gave in to Easy Living yesterday!!! I'm beginning to scare myself now !!!! :rotfl:
I have 4 magazine subscriptions
Admittedly, 2 were christmas presents and the other 2 on special deals. And they all cover different subjects. That's my excuse anyway...
As I've said in my diary, the aim for this year is not to buy any other magazines, and so far I have managed it... shame it's only January
It's a strange addiction, and not too damaging in general (compared to drugs or something) but still not something I want to get out of control.LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -
My SOA is fairly minimal really.
Rent: £500 - this includes all bills so it is pretty good. (I share a house with a friend - lodge really as it is her house)
Food - food bill is split 50/50 - £150ish a month
Car insurance - £19.99
Mobile - £29.99 (planning to go payg once contract up in June)
LoveFilm subscription - £5 (for 3 DVDs a month)
Petrol - £40
I don't tend to budget ahead for MOT, car tax, birthdays or Xmas. I tend to buy food in the canteen at work as I can't get organised enough to take packed lunches. I buy 10 -15 magazines a month. I love Starbucks and can easily spend £10 on a grande latte and a magazine at least 4 - 6 times a month (plus £1 - 2 on parking). I often pop into the local shop on the way home and buy chocolate, crisps and rubbish. I have take-aways 1 -2 times a week.
These habits above are what need to be reduced big time. I believe my basic outgoings are as trimmed as possible. Certainly if I budgeted and cooked more, the food bill would reduce too.
As this month stands, I have overpaid on a couple of my cards to try and catch up a bit. Theoretically, this should leave me with about £400 to live on. It sounds a lot but seriously it goes through my hands like sand when you take my bad habits into consideration.
This month is going to be a massive experiment to spend as little as possible beyond the necessities and see how much I have left.
Thanks for putting up with my rambleProud to be dealing with my debts

Hello All
Welcome SlayerX and sorry to hear of your redundancy...I hope you find something else good soon.
Jenevieve, I know what you mean, I went to Tesco for my lunch today and spent a tenner. I bought two bars of Green & Blacks as you got a free cookbook worth £14 - believe me I don't need to be eating 2 bars of choc let alone cooking with the darn stuff as well!!
I was gonna post earlier in the week about my evening with my ex but wanted to 'process' it first ..... it was such a disaster and made me really cross that I had put myself back in the same position I was in ages ago before we split up. I had to wait for him for 40mins in a freezing station and then we didn't seem to gel at all and I was in such a bad mood that I struggled to make an effort. Sooo frustrating, he seemed to be so keen on the text and it made me think that maybe it would work between us and then we ended up having a carpy time....
On a more positive note, I went to dinner this eve for my friends b'day and was sat next to a single man who was in his thirties and more exciting than that....no freakin' baggage!!! I didn't believe there was such a man.......
I've got a real lazy weekend planned, sooo looking forward to my lie in tomrrow!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Hi Makeup
Sorry the ex thing went badly
But........ it's sounds like you have met that mythological creature I was begining to think didn't exist...... a single man in his 30's with no baggage! :rotfl:
Have a good Saturday everybody

Morning peoples,
Jenevieve : well done for posting SOA - seems like your basic outgoings are pretty well trimmed although I have to say that £150 each for 2 people is quite a lot - suggest you get over to the 'old style' board for tips on how to make soup out of a couple of peas & a ball of string.
I find it very helpful to budget for MOT, spares, car tax, present & christmas etc as these are the things that would end up on my CC . I have various 'funds' for all these expenses : car tax £5 a week, mot/service/spares £10 a week, presents £10 a week & christmas which I'm saving for using the sealed pot challenge & aiming/hoping for £250 by christmas although christmas presents are included in the general presents fund. I worked out how many people I had to buy for, how much i was prepared to spend on each one & then just divided it into weekly payments as that's how I get paid.
We're all different & have things we're prepared to do without or not. I'm unable to balance transfer & now am stuck on high apr's so just want to clear the debt asap & am prepared to do without a lot just to get rid of it. I'd rather scrimp for 2 years than just cut down a bit for maybe 6. BUT we each have to do what suits us & is possible within both our budget & comfort zones. There is no point making yourself miserable & on this particular board we like our treatsI think that Green & Blacks has now been officially recognised as a essential for mental health so no longer constitutes a luxury, ditto wine, shoes, bags, perfume & lingerie
.
I saw a tv doc about the tightest woman in Britain & whilst I agree that sourcing a meal for a pound is a good thing... boys pants is definitely not, however cheap & long lasting they may be .
Here endedth the saturday morning lesson
Makeup : I'm so sorry that your date with ex didnt go as you'd hoped but I think it went as it was meant to. I dont want to sound harsh but from my own experience I've realised that to 'go back' is just inviting more disappointment & sadness into your life. I know it's tough but I think you will be much happier if you allow the past to remain exactly that & move forwards. I've recently tried to get back with an OF & although I was craving the company & comfort of familiarity & enjoying it to some extent, underneath were all the same nagging doubts that it just wasnt right /& more importantly was making me frustrated & miserable that it wouldnt be what I wanted it to be. I'm happy that you had a good time with friends & more importantly that you discovered the species that we all thought was extinct is actually still out there.
Catch you all later

Sorry it didn't go as you hoped but must agree with Lula-Hula, "going-back" is usually a disappointment 'cos you tend to focus on the good bits that happened in the past & forget the reason's why it didn't work out the first time aroundOn a more positive note, I went to dinner this eve for my friends b'day and was sat next to a single man who was in his thirties and more exciting than that....no freakin' baggage!!!
