Sarah - glad you're enjoying the Being Happy book. It's a really easy read isn't it! I'd recommend reading and re-reading though cos you really need to absorb it and act on it and before you know it, it's second nature!!

It is easy to read, am really enjoying it, it keeps touching on sore points, am wincing in recognition at some things.:o It is quite short, but I like the fact that it doesn't have any filler so the information is short and sweet. What I particularly like is that a lot of it is to do with changing the way you think, rather than what you do, and then changing what you do comes as a result of changing your thoughts. All my fave self help books are about how you think, I hate the ones that give you tasks/challenges.

Haven't even finished it yet! But I do keep having to put it down and think it through, so it's taking longer than I thought. Am still waiting for "How to meet a man after 40" to arrive, then I'll be truly happy;)

Now stupid ME when i cancelled the contract with dial a phone i asked them to cancel the cover and as said stupid me thought they had. As said previously i presume whats came out my account is things that i need and it just clocked to me i didnt know what this was for

so now i have cancelled them and i have emailed them to say id like to have this money back as it wasnt due to them.

    see what happens.

see what this website has done to me its made me look at my finances totally different
 sometimes my debt panics me..... EVEN after 4 years or so.

I will be free in less than three years with a trust deed - my only option as debt management was taking too long :(

That is great, I'm glad you're going to pursue this. It all adds up!

I've got an evening in and have a beef stew cooking on the stove. I'm going to do some more of my cross-stitch and then watch the Departed on DVD from Lovefilm. I do like an evening in chilling!!

I think I'm meeting with my ex on Sunday so will be interesting to see what comes of it!

  • I really think you should go for it. I know it's seen as bad form, but the fact that she likes him doesn't really mean anything if she has no actual relationship with him. Please don't miss out on something that could be wonderful for you - and for him - just because of somebody else's wish list.

I'm sorry if that makes me sound like a really evil friend but I still regret backing off from a lovely guy I knew 8 years ago. I really liked him (obviously!) and I knew he liked me, but my flatmate fancied him and it was very rare for her to declare an interest in anyone so I felt bad kind of being competition. But I so wish I'd done something about it - it seems ridiculous now that we both missed out on something good because of someone he didn't fancy anyway! I could've been all round the planet and be on a beach in NZ with a very sexy surfer by now :(  *kicks self in shins several times*. Of course it's also possible he'd have broken my heart in weeks, but I wish I'd found out instead of wondering.

People aren't property, the choice about who he has a relationship with should rest with him. Not her.

So you go girl  I hope you have a fabulous, fabulous time and don't forget to keep us posted.

Mini-rant over, off to see if I can find sexy surfer on Facebook... and email friends who just might be in touch with him. Yes I am truly a bad, bad person :D

Just checked online and my meet a man after 40 book won't be delivered for another week:mad: I want everything now, now, now! I hate waiting.

Diet went to pot last night when I managed to eat a large bag of peanuts and a family size bar of chocolate. :o Am back on the wagon today.

Still stuck on my 100 list, have 75 but decided to leave the rest and add to it through the year.

Got to work to find out about a pay cut, have had a pay rise but they have decided to lower the percentage, so I will still get the rise but not as much as I thought. I had plans for that money:mad: will have to keep my fingers crossed that my bonus is not affected. It has thrown all my sums out though, will have to have a rethink.

Oh no! How annoying!! I hope you do still get your bonus as well. When will you know for sure? Will they back date the rise? Sometimes it works out you get quite a bit even if the amount isn't that much to begin with.

I fell off the wagon yesterday as well. I went to the theatre with my friend and he bought me a Wispa......yum!

I can't wait for weekend now, I feel really tired and was hoping for an early night but again failed miserably! I'm sooo looking forward to my Saturday morning lie in!! Yay!!

However you asked Dial-a-phone to cancel it so it isn't as if you didn't do anything?! I suppose you should have made sure they did but really they should have got it right first time.

Yep stew was lovely, supposed to be beef&barley but didn't have any barley in the cupboard after all! Still I enjoyed it!.

Well it is a bit complicated, we are on good terms and see each other every so often but recently he has seemed a lot more keen and I think there is a chance that he is after a reconcilliation. I'm not sure, we had a difficult relationship when we were together. I think I will see what happens and how it all goes and take it from there.
