Hi all, am back from work so settling down with a big coffee and a small  biscuit to read Being Happy, which SuSu recommended, have had a quick look through and looks really interesting and just my kind of book. :D

Michelle, have been thinking about your situation, I definitely think you should go for it, it's an awkward situation but she's not going out with him, so you don't have anything to feel guilty about. You only have one life and he could turn out to be the one, you can't be expected to give up that chance.

Lula am :j to have you back!

Thank you Sarah, I know that it's worth pursuing, but she's started putting some status updates on facebook designed to make me feel guilty.

I'm also scared she'll say something to him to put him off me. I'm starting to wish I hadn't said anything at all now.

You luck thing with that book. What's it like? I'm so buying it on payday next week!

Well, i think it's fab so far! It's fairly short but it is packed with really relevant and interesting stuff, just have to put it into practice now. Always the hardest bit:o

  • Oh no. Just told my friend that I like Forbidden Man, and now he's even more forbidden because she is REALLY not happy with the idea.

I'm still seeing him Friday night though. Just not telling her about it. Have decided that there's no need for her to know unless it starts going really really well. If it doesn't work out then she has no reason to know anything.

Before you all warn me, I absolutely know that this is not a good idea. But I think life isn't worth living unless the odd chance is taken and this is one I'm willing to take. I still have a feeling of dread, mixed in with the nervousness / excitement of the date  :j    :j

I really think you should go for it. I know it's seen as bad form, but the fact that she likes him doesn't really mean anything if she has no actual relationship with him. Please don't miss out on something that could be wonderful for you - and for him - just because of somebody else's wish list.

I'm sorry if that makes me sound like a really evil friend but I still regret backing off from a lovely guy I knew 8 years ago. I really liked him (obviously!) and I knew he liked me, but my flatmate fancied him and it was very rare for her to declare an interest in anyone so I felt bad kind of being competition. But I so wish I'd done something about it - it seems ridiculous now that we both missed out on something good because of someone he didn't fancy anyway! I could've been all round the planet and be on a beach in NZ with a very sexy surfer by now :(  *kicks self in shins several times*. Of course it's also possible he'd have broken my heart in weeks, but I wish I'd found out instead of wondering.

People aren't property, the choice about who he has a relationship with should rest with him. Not her.

So you go girl  I hope you have a fabulous, fabulous time and don't forget to keep us posted.

Mini-rant over, off to see if I can find sexy surfer on Facebook... and email friends who just might be in touch with him. Yes I am truly a bad, bad person :D

Hi mags, I can't really help with this as I have had the same bank account since I was 20, can't remember even opening it! Have had a read through the thread though, lots of people who seem a lot more knowledgeable, I think the person who said change them over yourself is right, at least then you will know it has been done properly and when.
