makeup maybe he realised what he lost, but then again I'm no expert you need SBC or TDQO to advise, and friends always think your mad if you still talk to an ex.
My tuesday isn't going bad, didn't do any painting during the holiday and did some tonight, figured if I just grit my teeth and do a bit each night I'll have it done this week, but it's so boring, and I've stayed within all my saving/spending targets this week, so not a bad start to the week.

What're you painting eco? Your house or a masterpiece of oil on canvas?

I'm painting my stairs, I have a long landing and hallway and the ceilings are high as well, but my brother gave me a lot of the materials and paint, so i shouldn't complain too much

ooh, I don't envy you doing that! All that stretching & staring up at the ceiling far far away...

Make sure you wear a shower cap when painting the ceiling - saves getting that "home streaked" look!

    Hiya makeup

Well, for what it's worth, I reckon you should meet up with your ex and find out what your present is! It's not like he's got in touch out of the blue or anything, you've already got a good relationship, so why not?

I don't know what you want from your relationship, but presuming you want it to move on (or back) to the next level, ask yourself these two questions:

1 - What's the worst that can happen? His gift turns out to be a recipe book for 1,000 things to do with beetroot?! :rotfl:

2 - What's the best thing that can happen? His gift turns out to be nothing material, but a declaration of his undying love for you. :happyhear

How do you feel about each of those scenarios? What do you want to happen? How would you feel if you get it? How would you feel if you didn't? More importantly, are you prepared never to see him/be in touch with him again because you're frightened of what he wants?

Sorry, bit rambly, but I'm full of painkillers and hot chocolate (no solid choc till debt free :p ) and it's a lethal combination!

    Hi Susu

Thanks for that - you are right, how ridiculous to be frightened of it all!!! And certainly not rambly...totally feel your pain, I'm on second day of my healthy eating diet which means I'm now feeling hungry.......and don't think an apple is going to hit the spot!

I think you're right Eco, in a way he does realise what he has lost - but he's seeing me now when I'm not neurotic (as I was in the relationship - he drove me crazy!!!! I know you shouldn't blame other people for your behaviour but still.....aargh!)

I don't really know how I feel about it all - and maybe it is just a little present that means nothing serious.

He has quite a bit of baggage and I don't really see how it could work.....

I'm really confused but posting on here - and reading your thoughts has really helped. :T

Things will work out one way or another in the end....

Most intrigued about your painting Eco - at first thought you were working through creative block but now not so sure....?? Edit...took too long typing my post...wow big job but must be real sense of achievement when done? All those high ceilings have to be tricky

ps Susu - I had high hopes for your dirty texter...no news at all??
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Buffy your right the bit over the stairs, not the easiest spot to paint, I've stretched and pratically swung off the ladder to get that bit done, this job has been 4 years in the planning, I just couldn't face it, but 've promised myself a really decent carpet with fitting I'm not doing that bit,and hopefully they'll be some good deals about when i go looking

That was the bit when I phoned my best friend and said if I don't call back in an hour come find me- I never twigged until I was standing on the bannister(!) how flaming dangerous it was!! I kepy rehearsing (in my head) how I would leapt to safety in some kung fu type move!!!!

    xx

Okay, so it's day three of the roasted chicken and veg fest and, well, I'm sick of it already! Not the chicken, just the potatoes (I've done mashed, roasted and seasoned oven chips). Only one more day to go - thank gawd for that! I feel a bit bleurgh at the thought of it!

On the plus side, though, I haven't spent any more money on food this week and I've got enough potatoes and veg to last another week. Need to get creative with my cooking ideas

    How y'all doing today?

Hmm, don't think I could ever get sick of chicken and roast potatoes, might try this next week, would be quite cheap if I could get a few meals out of it.

Have had my 4th NSD of the month already, am getting better at this, haven't needed to buy anything since doing a big shop at the beginning of the week, am getting used to storecupboard meals but a bit annoying as it means I don't have any change to put in my sealed pot piggy. I love still having the same amount in my purse as when I left the house, am beginning to wonder if it would be possible to live for free:D can't even think of anything I need at the moment, however this may be a side effect of being too busy to get to the shops. ;)

I'm having a new banister and some doors fitted in summer, so never had the luxury of standing on it, Buffy you could have broke your neck.
