Curvy is much sexier than skinny. I doubt I'd even notice a woman under a size 12
In fact most if not all of the blokes I know think stick insect women are unattractive.

I would catch up properly but have a headache and just eaten SOO much chocolate which hasn't helped.
women or rather a lot of women want to be skinny cos that is what we see on TV and in magazines. tiny skinny women who all look marvellous on the screen and presumably like dolls in real life. fat/larger females do not often appear on TV in "normal" roles watch an episode CSI or NCIS, always skinny women. TV presenters, esp on Childrens TV skinny young girls are everywhere.
so that is what we see and think is normal ergo that is what we want.
* we as in some women not all just too wordy to use in a sentence!

if it's true and most lads prefer women to be 12+, why the hell do we all waste so much time on exercise and diets, may as well save the energy for more important stuff.
True,
I fluctuate between an 8 and a 10. Most women want to be these sizes, or probably even a size 6. However I try to be at least a 10 because at least there is a little bit of meat on there. However, you get what genetics you can.
That might sound like crap to someone on a diet, but when you are shopping for knee-high boots and don't have enough meat on your calf to hold them up, it's a pain. If I was a 12 I wouldn't be complaining. I eat chocolate, pasta, god knows what else, it makes no difference. Sorry if that sounds like !!!!, but my mum and my grandmother both had a very high metabolism. It works the other way when things won't fit you because certain parts of you are a bit thin!0 -
i'm a 12 and i'm happy with it, when i was 17 i thought i was fat and i weighed less than i do today, what planet was i on!!0

Hi everyone!
Thank you for your good wishes - I'm feeling much better thanks. Seems to have been a one-off, fortunately (I have to hit the ground running this week at work)
Well, not much to report from here. Haven't bought any chocolate today :A and after the pre-xmas failed date leading to 3 days of roast chicken dinners I have decided that it's a very DFW way of shopping, so have today spent under £10 on roast chicken dinner ingredients - should last 3-4 days!!
Re the whole skinny vs curvy argument and the idea that women want to slim for other women... well, I've got 4 brothers and they all prefer women curvy - my sisters-in-law range from size 10/12 to approx 20. However, if you're not happy in your own skin, you're not going to send out "fancy meeee" vibes are you? Personally, I want to lose weight for myself, because I'm tired of the tyres and sick of making noises when I get out of an armchair.
If I could go and have a word with my 17 year old self, I'd tell her to work at keeping her figure cos it won't last on its own! I'm slightly daunted by the old "it takes longer to lose weight when you're in your 30s" thing, but I'm in no rush. It's like my debt - it took years to add up and it'll take years to take away. And learning from my debt experience, I know that every little helps. So, here's to a new beginning! Bet the gym'll be packed tomorrow!!£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Exactly! I want to feel comfortable in my own skin, I just don't feel like me at the moment so I am hardly going to attract anyone else when I feel lumpy and awkward and am giving off those vibes. My 17 year old self was on a diet, I remember having a chart on the wall to track my progress. I was 8 stone 4lbs at the time. This is a really complex issue and I don't think there are easy answers to this whole issue. It is deeply ingrained in the psyche of most women - I mean practically the best compliment you can give to a woman is 'have you lost weight?'
It is also very hard because it is connected with health, realistically - those carrying excess weight will have a higher likelihood of high pressure and more chance of type 2 diabetes as well as other health problems.
So then fat or overweight people become fair game as they are a drain on health resources and the NHS. ........
I don't really know where I'm going with this .... except that probably women should try and love themselves a little more and society should stop judging them so harshly (which includes a minority of men who believe all women should have huge pneumatic boobs ..... )
On a completely different note, I watched Ballet Shoes last night on i-player and now I really want to do tap classes. I'm going to ring a few colleges tomorrow and see if there are any spaces......I hope so!!!
ps - Eco - hope you're ok after that incident, very scary sounding.I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -

Exactly, I am now getting the stage where as well as wanting to look better I am getting concerned for my health as well, I seem to put all my weight on my stomach and hips, which is supposed to be the most dangerous for developing health problems due to weight for women, I do not want to get past the stage where something can be done. I can disguise it with the way I dress but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is there. So this year is going to have to be the one I do something because I cannot keep thinking it will get better. I am afraid of damaging my health and not being able to put it right by eating 5 a day and drinking lots of water for a couple of weeks and feeling virtuous.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

I agree, theres a lot of obesity in my family & diabetes.I don't really know where I'm going with this .... except that probably women should try and love themselves a little more and society should stop judging them so harshly (which includes a minority of men who believe all women should have huge pneumatic boobs ..... )
Also agreed, one of the current popular theories based on faily extensive studies that people who are naturally happy with themselves generally don't gain or lose much weight regardless of changes to diet or exercise.0
