I agree - I've always been flattered if a woman has asked me out. The only thing I'd say different (from personal experience) is not each others houses for the first few dates unless there's already "afters" in mind.

Thanks all for the replies.
I've calmed down now and have found a solution. I will drive to my aunts with mine and my dad's washing and do it on Sunday. I will buy a new one when I get paid on the 20th and do a few more visits out to my aunts and use her washing machine and tumble dryer, I will give her a few pounds for the use of them.
My dad was planning to buy a new one at the end of the month anyway, it really has seen better days and doesn't even wash the clothes properly. If I get a new job fairly quickly in April I will even just pay for it and not ask for the money back.
I can't say fairer than that. Of course I got no thanks for any of it though. I suppose that is just the way it is.0 -
Can you let a mutual friend know that you like him? Then puts the ball in his court.
TBH if I'd told a woman face to face that I liked them it would be because I wasn't sure what the reaction would be if I asked her out.
If the only response I got was a second hand message several days later, I wouldn't be very impressed & probably wouldn't do anything about it.0 -

If he was planning to get a new one anyway then offer to knock the price of what repairing the old one would cost or at most half of what it costs off the £150 he owes you.
I can't see why you should pay the full price.0 -

True, but he's such a miserable person sometimes, he didn't even thank me when I offered. Makes me wonder why I bother.
Anyway, I've just ordered one now, should be here in 3 working days. Didn't even get a thanks. Is that just how parents are?0 -
Yeah, but guys say that don't they "you look nice tonight". Even the married ones. It would be difficult I think to ask a guy out after that, I'd be worried.0

But if you don't take a chance now and again, life will just pass you by in a safe, but boring, manner. What's the worst that can happen? He might say no. BUT he might say yes.LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -

I don't agree with that. When I asked guys out years ago they always said no. When I expressed an interest through my friends, they would then come to me.0 -

I guess, I would hope in that context the conversation would continue down that route there and then
How was it left?0
